Or Trump. He's stupid enough to actually say that stuff. Donald Trump said at a meeting with congressional leaders yesterday that he'd be open to a whole bunch of gun-grabbing ideas. It's almost 24 hours later and we're way behind the news cycle on this -- it lasted 22 minutes -- but he did at least briefly worry a few second amendment absolutists before they all went back to calling the kids from Parkland, Florida, a bunch of crisis actors.
"...It doesn't make any sense because if you don't have a mechanism for making a complaint in the first place......?" No shit? You mean to tell me that we don't already have what they are taking about doing? And that this bill would only create that mechanism?
Yes! No shit. That's how bad our laws are about this. You'd think the people who like guns would be, you know, for that! Keeping a clean house and all, but regrettably, no.
Good handle, Mulan labia. Go forth, and do good works.
So your argument really is that the government discussing firearms restraining orders has no "practical application" because we don't already have firearms restraining orders? ....Don't you think that might be why they are discussing creating firearms restraining orders? Maybe?
Now you follow up with "...our laws are bad. You'd think gunhumpers would be for that...keeping a clean house...regrettably, no"? (...Ill do my best here...)
Yeah, I am all for firearms restraining orders. They sound like a good idea. I wasn't aware I ever expressed an opposition for them?
Its actually you who has argued that even discussing creating these new laws have no practical application.
Sorry, I thought that maybe you were a benevolent troll, but I think you're just a crazy person. I hope you don't have real guns. Finger guns are just as good. Pkew! Pkew! That's fun, too, right? Goodbye, forever!
This all sounds very depressing. Do you have friends nearby? I couldn't survive without my friends, as all my immediate relatives live 1000 miles away or on other continents, and anyway they are all narcissists and I can't stand any of them. Every single time I go to the doctor they say "Your Emergency Family Contact field is blank, shall we add someone?" and I say "No, I don't have one."
Yes, they have such laws everywhere. Someone has to report that you are "a danger to yourself or others" but the person this is reported to varies state-by-state, and the amount of time they can hold you without a warrant also varies.
Me: "I want to report that a crazy guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is a danger to himself or others. He has nuclear bombs, and is threatening to use them!"
DC911: "We already know that, sir."
Me: "Well, do some Civil Involuntary Detention or something!"

Seriously?
Is that when you sit on your hand until it goes numb, so it feels like someone else is doing it?
You are going to get some very confused kids showing up at Christmas
Try Xanax chief...

That requires planning. Something El Presidente doesn't seem to be capable of.
Funny how this seems to happen more in "red" states than blue ones.
And check out "Civil Asset Forfeiture", too.
Or supervillains are CEOs.....
D.C. 911 operator: "911, what is your emergency?"
Me: "I want to report that a crazy guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is a danger to himself or others. He has nuclear bombs, and is threatening to use them!"

DC911: (click)
Me: "Fucking sigh..."
I can't believe he can operate at that level of sophistication.
It was all Fake News™. LOOK! OVER THERE! ILLEGALLY VOTING BENGHAZIS!
