The other day, Donald Trump said an honest thing, and it was "if you are going to make abortion illegal, there has to be, like, a punishment because that is how illegal works." (He said it stupider than that, probably with a 20-minute rant about Trump Steaks.) Everybody was SO MAD, but mostly the pro-life people, because he blew decades-worth of them claiming, like Ted Cruz's advisors do, that they only want to execute doctors for performing abortions, but not do anything to the woman having the abortion because that might be rude.
But did you know it is not Trump's fault that he said out loud what they all secretly think inside? You did? You're amazing. WHOSE fault IS IT, though? Oh, how about the people running the video camera that captured his words, from his mouth? Let's go with "them."
Tell us how that disgusting MSNBC did you wrong, Donald Trump?
On Thursday, Trump repeatedly blamed the length and confusing nature of the discussion about abortion for his comments about penalties for illegal abortions.
"This was a long, convoluted question. This was a long discussion. And they just cut it out, and frankly it was extremely — it was really convoluted," he said.
He later added that it was a "very long, convoluted discussion, which frankly they don’t run on television because it’s too long."
But what was the long convoluted question? I bet it was "Who would you appoint to the Supreme Court and also as Attorney General and how much would you send bortion ladies to jail?" You can see why he would get confused.
OK, MSNBC transcript, what was the question again, we will try really hard to put on our Listening Caps and follow along.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: What should the law be on abortion?
Welp.
Okay, did it get long and convoluted from there? Well, it got long. Chris Matthews chased him around the studio a few times demanding an answer on whether he would ban abortion, and if so what the punishment would be. They had a nice chat about the Catholic Church, and Matthews said he follows his church's moral teaching but that it has no standing legally, as this is not Spain, and finally Trump broke down and whimpered only "steaaaaks" as he slid to the floor. But it wasn't especially convoluted, unless you count Trump's increasingly desperate evasions of the question.
Okay, that was fun! But MSNBC chopped your answer to hell to make you look stupid, right, Donald Trump? GRRRR MSNBC.
"This was a long, convoluted question. This was a long discussion. And they just cut it out, and frankly it was extremely — it was really convoluted," he said.
He later added that it was a "very long, convoluted discussion, which frankly they don’t run on television because it’s too long."
Did you do that, MSNBC?
MSNBC said in a statement to Mediaite that Trump's conversation with Chris Matthews was not edited and was aired in full.
Who are you going to believe, Trump or ... oh fuck it.
Donald Trump Did Not Say 'Put All The Abortions In Jail,' It Was QUICK LOOK OVER THERE!
Not to mention the nose penis.
Well, the same people who are against abortion are also against contraception (Hobby Lobby) and sex education. It's really not that amazing to think their successes in suppressing both, particularly the latter, which they think equals "abstinence education," could result in a lot of unplanned pregnancies.
