You can have the wallet. Not like there's anything in it. Maybe if I swim around the border?

Listening to them back and fill can be amusing. If one is easily amused.

And then Führer Trump can sell their remains, as in gold teeth & ashes.

Yes, but please make sure to deport Führer Trump to several Latin American Nations at the same time, in several cardboard boxes.

Of course he does, as Führer Trump laundered the Mafia's Blood Money at his Casino, until he was busted by the Gaming Commission.

"happens down at the border"Wrong, much of ICE's criminal activity happens in places like San Bernardino, at the entrances of Certain Reservations, etc. etc.

"All the stone guys are immigrants. I wonder how fast they can fill those jobs with Americans once they run them all out?"

In many of the skilled trades, replacing Latin Americans would not be easy. Often the more brutal jobs like roofing, carpeting, etc. are done by Indigenous Peoples, who are tougher than Europeans. The same holds true with farm workers.

Give Führer Trump's Administration time to work out the details, as sick detainees will get the most humane euthanasia.

Rex Tillerson and General Kelly were here in Mexico City today, trying to put a happy face on the threats. It went about as well as you'd expect, with even Foreign Minister Vidagarray finally discovering he has a backbone, and saying ... besides "No way, Jose" as far as taking in non-Mexican deportees goes, and... if they wanted to talk about border security, the US had to do something about its arms trade and drug consumption. Just as a starting point.

Fuck YEAH, said the woman who worked in a US drug-treatment clinic and despaired of the insufficiency of slots citywide (10% as many as were needed).

I get "Press 1 for English" all the time, the most recent being in a call I made yesterday. But around here, the next thing one hears is, "Pour le français, appuyez sur '2.' " Occasionally, the choices are the other way around.* This scheme isn't likely to change anytime soon. As far as I can tell, it is totally noncontroversial here. Hispanophones are rarely encountered in this part of the country.

Sometimes I wonder if the Quebecois ever lie awake at night, worrying about all of those poor, desperate, out of work Anglophones from hardscrabble towns just south of the border coming up and grabbing all of their jobs cheap prescription meds. Someone ought to do something about that.

______________________________________________________* If the place is in the US, that is. If the place being called is in Canada, there is no scheme like this. If the party is a business and the receptionist begins in French, the monolingual English caller simply has to begin speaking in English and the other party will instantly switch to speaking in English. And vice versa. No language menu. Unlike us, Canadians can deal with more than one language, no sweat. Pas un souci.
