Donald Trump Lies He Was Gonna Host G-7 At Miami Trash Palace For FREEEEEE
DAMN YOU. GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
Donald Trump's brilliant plan to hold the 2020 Group of 7 summit at his Miami trash palace survived just a bit over 48 hours before he took to Twitter Saturday night and said he was dropping it -- not because there's anything wrong with a "president" steering hundreds of millions of dollars of business to his own resort, but because his enemies are irrational monsters who don't appreciate what a great deal he was offering America. Oh, yeah, and because even Donald Trump was able to dimly understand Republicans weren't willing to defend him on this one. (Acting) Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney hadn't made matters any better by pairing the announcement of Doral as the venue with an admission of criming in Ukraine, either.
Here's the tweet; we like how even as he announces the G-7 will be held elsewhere, President StableGenius tries to promote his resort, because it's perfect, perfect you fools!

YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! AHHH, DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU TO HELL!Â
The Washington Post  found an anonymous "administration official" who explained that Trump was told that Republicans were just plain getting tired of defending all of Trump's dumb moves lately. That, plus maybe the likelihood that the blatant self-dealing would become another article of impeachment, seems to be behind Trump's decision, not that he'd ever admit he worries about little things like being seen as a high crimer.
Trump has been closely watching Republicans and their comments about impeachment, according to one administration official. The president was told repeatedly his G-7 decision made it more difficult to keep Senate Republicans in a unified front against impeachment proceedings, the official said. Before he changed course, Trump had waved off concerns from advisers who said hosting world leaders at his club would not play well.
"There was very little support for this in the building even before Mick [Mulvaney] went out there and did what he did," an official said.
Several Republicans had struggled to find anything even remotely positive to say about the decision, and even some commentators on Trump's real cabinet, Fox News, had criticized the choice of Doral, as had some Republican guests on the network. The New York Times  reports Trump was astonished to learn that the move hadn't won him universal admiration from congressional Republicans, either:
By Saturday afternoon, his concerns had deepened when he put in a call to Camp David, where Mr. Mulvaney was hosting moderate congressional Republicans for a discussion of issues facing them, including impeachment, and was told the consensus was he should reverse himself. Those moderates are among the votes Mr. Trump would need to stick with him during an impeachment.
Not that the criticism from those "moderates" was exactly blistering. One of the Camp David guys, Rep. Peter King (R-NY), managed this, which for Republicans in TrumpWorld may rise to "scathing":
"I didn't see it being a big negative, but it certainly wasn't a positive" [...] He said the group told Mr. Trump's aides that sticking with the decision "would be a distraction."
STRONG WORDS!
The Times also notes that while Trump made the decision to hold the G-7 summit somewhere else Saturday afternoon, he waited until Saturday night to announce it on Twitter -- and that his chain of tweets was interrupted by an hourlong break while he watched Janine Pirro on Fox.
Sunday morning, Mulvaney was on Fox News Sunday to "explain" his straightforward Ukraine comments had been misinterpretated and there was no Quisp Prose Quotes, and also Donald Trump is such a great hotelier that he was surprised to learn America simply doesn't appreciate his genius.
He was honestly surprised at the level of pushback. At the end of the day, you know, he still considers himself to be in the hospitality business and he saw an opportunity to take the biggest leaders from around the world, and he wanted to put the absolute best show, the best visit that he possibly could.
For all the talk that Mulvaney's on the way to a quick You're Fired, or that Trump was somehow persuaded to see the Doral fuck-tussle as a big black eye instead of a feather in his cap, Trump appears to have settled on Mulvaney's spin, at least for now. Democrats and their buddies in the media just don't recognize what a favor Trump was doing by sending the summit to his trash palace in the off season when Doral would be empty. Wherever the summit takes place, get ready for months of whiny pissy tweets like these, from Sunday morning and today:

We'r betting the site can only be Camp David, because there's simply no way the Great Man could bring himself to let any non-Trump brand be attached to the summit.
That, or he'll demand the summit be held at whatever place was so high in the mountains everyone will need an oxygen mask.

MI and DFW used to top my list of awful airports. Then I flew to Beijing. Coal smoke so thick you couldn't see the far side of the concourse. 40% surcharge on money changing for Americans (only). $400 to get a day pass to the city (if you're American).
Been through there 4 times on my way to and from SE Asia. Now I refuse to travel on Chinese airlines and I'm totally cured of ever wanting to travel in China.
With a smile that looked like an overlit refrigerator showroom.
