MI and DFW used to top my list of awful airports. Then I flew to Beijing. Coal smoke so thick you couldn't see the far side of the concourse. 40% surcharge on money changing for Americans (only). $400 to get a day pass to the city (if you're American).

Been through there 4 times on my way to and from SE Asia. Now I refuse to travel on Chinese airlines and I'm totally cured of ever wanting to travel in China.

Devil's Thumb. 10,500. They should but they don't.

Only flatlanders need oxygen at 10,500 feet. Doesn't affect the Rocky Mountain locals. We have bigger lungs and more red blood cells.

Why not hold the G-7 meeting, if they have to meet face to face (what's wrong with a Skype call?) somewhere like Fort Riley, Kansas or Des Moines Iowa or some other boring place where they can fly in, get work done, and leave?

You need a president like ours. AMLO is co-owner (with his brothers) of a small farm, but his wife owns the one house (and car) they have.

Croissants made with a pound of lard and no butter, like they sell in German train stations.

Yeah, yeah tough guy, meant facetiously. Nonetheless, most of us live below 2500. Also I have polycythemia (too many red blood cells) and I still feel like crap above 7000. My daughter lives up the hill in the Springs and I dread walking around there. Here at home (2200) I do a 3-5 mile brisk hike in the Rademacher Hills 5 days a week. I don't think the G-7 folks are in that shape or would have time to acclimate anyway. It is pretty up there where you are.
