Seconded - JDM's Negan is amazingly terrifying, he's really inhabiting the character...AMC has done a pretty good job, they've toned parts of the source material WAAYYYY down since the beginning, while still managing to keep the original storyline basically intact. At the risk of sounding like a twatty hipster, people who have never encountered the graphic novels don't realize TWD is basically "The Road" with zombies added and parts of it are seriously, horrifically, 'not suitable for pregnant women or people with heart conditions' f#*ked up...I get why people are upset, but they should not be surprised. You can't be angry about a nihilist exploration of the effects of the apocalyptic collapse of civilisation and the subsequent degeneration of humanity not bringing the happy endings often enough.

Look, the truth changes based on your ambitions. Why can't you liars from the press get that through your thick skulls?

He turned over that rock and found the deplorables. 20 million(?) people willing to blindly follow him down the deepest rabbit hole, unquestioningly. Ready to believe, as deeply as they believe the sun will rise tomorrow, any fantastical nonsense he cares to feed them, and disregard any previous nonsense that might contradict the current crop. And all he needed to do was stoke their fear and prejudice, and tell them that their bigotry made them admirable.

And once an ego as needy as Trump's felt the searing heat of that sort of worship, all bets were off, and he was as trapped in that hideous ouroboros of affirmation as they were.

Not sure about that. This (from Ed Klein when he used to write for publications that don't come with detergent coupons) has a bunch of friends saying that phone polling friends about whether he should do something was his way of announcing that he was going to do it. I think he just wanted a popular ex-president to say he was a credible candidate.

What I wouldn't have guessed is that the VRWC took their eyes off the prize long enough to make this happen. If they'd nominated a mutton chop it would be measuring the Oval Office for drapes right now.

I think it is perfectly obvious that Trump's candidacy is a vast, left-wing conspiracy to have the most unelectable idiot in the known universe on the ballot so Hillary can get elected while at the same time totally trashing the republican brand. Well played. The only question is whether Donald is a useful dupe, or part of the conspiracy.

They left out the part where the guy says "Now, before we begin, remember, today is Opposite Day..."

Yeah, because the Clintons TOTALLY forced him to be a sexist, racist, aggressive shitbag his entire life just to make him the perfect opposition candidate.
