It's wanted because it will be so freaking entertaining to watch the brawl that will take place on floor of the convention.

Really, we should all want Drumpf to win the Republican nomination because it will mean the Democratic candidate will win the White House. Both Lyin' Ted and John "I'm so moderate, I don't even rank a clever nickname" Kasich are both mean fanatical mo'fo's that we do not want to flirt with the possibility of getting anywhere near the White House. Better to suffer through another Warren G. Harding administration and let the Dems sweep the mid-terms and win the 2020 White House, than to suffer through a Lyin' Ted administration in which he shuts down the government once a quarter because he refuses to compromise.

I want a contested convention and for them to hand the nomination to Kasich so that Trump's supporters will go all RAWR HULKSMASH and fuck shit up, because I just want to watch the world burn.

I still don't know what it is, tho. It seems bad, to me. Like, okay, probably funny for us? But potentially really skeevy shit in general.

you are right. it's kinda like laughing when your friend shoots a q25 staple into their leg. funny shit, but not really nice.

Is a contested convention a thing where the voters say "More than half of us want that guy" and the Republican leaders say "Sorry, you must be confused, you actually want the guy that less than a third of you voted for"?

You're talking a Republican convention involving Lyin Ted and John Kasich, so yeah, skeevy shit is going to happen.

A brokered convention is one in which no one gets 50% + 1 delegates in the first ballot. So, all of the bound delegates from the primaries and caucuses that had to vote for a specific candidate can now vote for whomever they want. So, everyone who can swing a deal will be swinging. They don't even have to vote for someone who ran in the primaries!

Less skeevy, overall, thank you! Except of course, this year, we have annoying fucking asshats like Rubio saying "Please don't let my delegates vote for anyone but me even though I already quiiiiit" which is disgusting. I am less worried about it now. Frankly, literally any winner who comes out of the Republican convention is going to be a hot slimy pile of shit, but I'd really love for them to at least pretend to make it a fair cesspool where their voters are properly represented.

Not into English however...

it's where the party bosses decide the voters are too stupid to know who the candidate should be, and we want to win the election, so let's pick the one we like.

That's pretty much what I had feared in the first place, yep. Fuck that, don't want that as a thing that exists.

If Kasich knows he can't win and is just continuing to run out of a mean-spirited, vindictive, spiteful desire to screw up both Cruz and Turnip, then he has certainly increased his favorability rating with most Americans, including me.

Maybe he picked it up at Wharton. No one who was there at the time remembers him taking any Econ classes.
