There are probably legal restrictions on the Secret Service not accepting the rooms for free. A while back, I read where an agent got in trouble for using the bathroom at IIRC the Obama's or a neighbor which the Secret Service had not rented. However, Pendejo could have made a big show of "Legally we have to collect the money, but here we are donating it to 501(c) charities selected by the Agents". You couldn't buy good publicity like that .. oh wait, that's exactly what you would be doing, but its still good publicity.
