Back in 1989, in response to the case of the Central Park Jogger, Donald Trump took out a full page ad in several newspapers demanding that New York state bring back the death penalty. The case was riddled with problems from the start, including obviously coerced confessions in which none of the five black youths convicted of the crime
There's a group in England called the 'Flat Earth Society,' and what the name of that group implies is not true, no matter how many people believe it... and no matter how many deny that these men are innocent does not make them guilty after they have been cleared by the confession of another person whose DNA matched the sample found at the scene of the crime.
There are plenty of deniers out there that spew their misinformation about a number of things: the earth being round, we never really went to the moon, vaccinations cause autism, the Holocaust never happened, global warming is a hoax, Obama was born in Kenya, 9/11 was an inside job, no plane ever hit the Pentagon, etc., etc., and there is always some person like Alex Jones, or Orly Taitz, or Andrew Wakefield, that is motivated to perpetuate the misinformation for money, hate, politics, or some other thing that is beneficial to them, no matter how much damage they cause to others, so stop counting: it's not a democratic issue where votes count - it's either true or it's not - no matter how many people agree or disagree.
This is the sort of thing that has me convinced (among other things) that the engineers at Trump Airlines finally just told Trump 'OK, we were wrong, we installed your solid gold toilets and marble walls and the plane flies just fine' because they could not get him to understand that [too much weight in an aircraft] = [bad], even if that weight is in gold.
