Oh yeah.I remember in the '80s, someone said thank gawd no one told the Russians that Star Wars couldn't see thru clouds.

Trump* is really trying hard to shore up his 2016 base. As I recall, the people who cared the most about student-loan relief in 2016 were hard-core Berniebros.

*Or more accurately, his politcal handlers, I doubt he knows or cares about this shit. "You say they voted for me last time? Okay, I'll sign it."

You know what's absolutely effing criminal? That people had to take these loans out IN THE FIRST GODDAM PLACE. I don't at all mean to rub anyone's nose in it, but I got my 4yr degree solely on Pell and state grants (while raising two kids as a single parent lest you think I had it too cush). If that was possible then, it should still be possible now.

I have thought that as well. The big WalMart here is good. Also run by a woman.

I recall at the start of the pandemic when big box stores like Home Depot were inconsistent with enforcing state orders. I remember seeing a picture of a sign that one had put up that was clearly not ok’d by the company, basically spouting the jargon of anti-maskers, and people reported that the employees were a mixed bag. Eventually the company made them take down their homemade sign (it’s HD and I expected something more professional looking because they have supplies... lazy stupid MAGAts), and enforce state’s orders. Dunno how long the company kept that up though.

It was already detestable, long before the pandemic, that these troglodytes thought themselves to be provocative when behaving the fools in public, so long as they claimed it was political. Now it’s both dangerous AND insulting.

Wasn't that a Meat Loaf song? "One out of four ain't bad".

Target does also. I just got off a 6 hour shift of checking for masks/counting people coming in and out of the store and handing out masks for free.

Hi, Target employee. We have drive up service for people who do not want to wear a mask inside and also give them out for free at the door. I am in NC but I believe it is company wide policy.

I would have hoped so! Thanks for elaborating. Now, maybe we need to figure out where the store that screwed this up is at.

"You know, that bill Trump keeps insisting is full of crazy liberal stuff that's unrelated to the pandemic getting him re-elected, which everyone knows is the only important thing in the entire universe."

The best thing to do is call corporate office for anything customer service related, they really do take stuff seriously. I have asked guests to rat us out on occasion to corporate for some dumb middle management decision and it was changed pretty quickly.

Unless she wrote the "M" after the "o", it would be more accurate to say

The "o" through the line of the "M" is...interesting.</pedant>

That would require acknowledging that "society" is a thing; they've been trying to deny that since at least Thatcher.
