His well-done steak isn't the only thing that's hard to swallow. Senate Republicans are continuing to work on some horrifying abomination of a bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act; they're also taking extraordinary steps to make sure no one knows what the hell is in the bill until they bring it to the floor for a vote. Probably because it's so terrific! If they manage to pull that off, it will be an amazing transformation of a
It hasn't quite dawned on people that Medicare isn't just about those pohrs. It's about everyone, except for those filthy rich. If you live long enough, and you're unfortunate enough to need long term care, after you've burned through all your savings and assets, ( and they'll charge you an exhorbitant price for every tissue and bandaid) you will need Medicaid.
Ironically, there actually is a way to make it happen: Medicare for all. But why go with the obvious, ready-made and politically popular solution, when you can take a shot at really fucking things up?
Medicare originally had a paragraph in it that basically said "Every ten years after the enactment of this bill the minimum age for coverage will decrease by five years." or some such language that bills are written. You would qualify at age 60 in 1975, 55 in 1985, 50 in 1995, 45 in 2005, 40 in 2015 and so on until everyone would have been covered by 2095. It would have been gradual and easy. But the insurance companies got their congresscritters to raise a stink about it and the compromise committee told LBJ that the little paragraph had to go or there would be no Medicare and no Civil Rights Bill.
If single-payer passes in CA I expect Washington to come down on it like a load of rectangular building things. Their 'reasons' ought to be... interesting.
You know one thing I never see in any comments section? Someone who is a Bernie or Buster saying "Ya know, maybe voting for Gary Johnson was not a good idea". Because if those Johnson, Stein, write in, or butt votes by staying home had really thought about it, President Clinton would have vetoed any ACA replacement. And we would not be having this problem right now. Instead, they continue to blame Clinton for their inability to see the obvious Trump writing on the wall.
Well said.

Apparently, negros are better at keeping secrets than fat orange men
But it was mean to all those people that had to pay for their own plans/premiums while all "those people" got it for free!

Yeah it's bad when even republicans realize it's a dumbass idea.
Mass shootings are something that is hard to classify, the FBI says 4 or more dead not counting the shooter in 1 event.
There are a lot of those.

See? The free-market solution works. We just need to scale that up.- the GOP
Billionaires need moneys. Gotta have that New England Yacht, the Florida Yacht and the West Coast Yacht. And the jet and estate for the other coast.
Golly, I heard that Donnie is consistent. This is all consistent. Isn't it?
I could see them trying this. Yet another way to monetise 'thoughts and prayers.'
If you find one let us know. Nobody else has been able to.
