No, I would not want to tear down Auschwitz. It has, in fact, been partially restored in order to stand as reminder of man's inhumanity to man - the inhumanity of ordinary, everyday, average men to other ordinary, everyday, average men. But comparing that to Versailles seems like comparing a very big ripe apple to a very tiny apple seed. 95% of people who visit Versailles are not thinking about the social and political consequences of aristocratic greed and royal over-consumption any more than the people who built it were thinking of those things, whereas the people who built and ran Auschwitz knew exactly what they were doing.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree since you seem to know what 95% of visitors to Versailles think. Of course, the several times I've been there, it has been in the company of my French relatives who are quite proud of liberté, égalité, fraternité and the soulless reminder of the excesses that led to La Révolution française and the huge revenues it brings into the country. I realize that not everyone is as fortunate as I am to have family in Europe and the wherewithal to visit often, but I'm just telling you what I have heard from French citizens about a place in their own country.

Disaster capitalism with a big 'D'.

Well since it IS in France, and since you say the French see it as a symbol of their revolutionary fight for freedoms, then it should stand. It is entirely their decision. All I said was I would not mind if they tore it down.

Certain it was asked earlier, but how much does Makes-A-Lotto charge the Red Cross to rent the banquet facilities? OR, what sort of write-off does Trump claim for donating it? AND, will anyone be dropping off an extra check for his 2020 campaign, already underway?

We're having a massive protest on the bridge and roadway to Mar-a-Lago tonight in Palm Beach County, Fl. The Palm Beach Post has been great to our group, "Speaking up for America" and the police are cooperative..so far. People are coming from all over Florida and we're psyched! In other great news, Marco Rubio is royally pissed off at us because we keep going to his local offices everyday to protest; we also call DC office, all day everyday! He told the PB Post we were "paid protesters"...ha! Of course this asswipe Rubio doesn't say who "radicalized" us or who's paying us. It's just more fake bullshit from the insufferable, craven, lying republican party. We formally requested an apology for the lies Rubio spoke about our little group (142), so far..nada. We're small but we prove you don't have to be a big group to make a difference...we are literally driving little marco wacko!
