I bet. I grew up in Oklahoma and then Texas. Nope'd out of there in my 20s to live in places where it's okay to be a liberal. I seriously do appreciate people who stay and do the work.

I'm from Oklahoma! Iowa is an upgrade in that it's more like 50/50 red/blue rather than 90/10. That said, it's a very stubborn 50%, and the white supremacist rhetoric coming from Steve King has made it a state I'm not quite as happy to say I'm from. I'm in the bluer east, though, so it's not completely awful.

There was a really good episode of On Point with Tom Ashbrook about the Hitler/Trump thing that made the analogy a little less terrifyingly perfect. Not completely reassuring, but a deep exploration. I think it aired yesterday.

It makes perfect sense! They'll be in the same room, and be more than 100%, but not quite 200% because he's a baby. Your daughter is SMART!!! At that age my son was basically running around (it was still a year before we could sign him up for peewee soccer and he could run around for hours with other little guys who liked running around as much as he did). I love that she wants to marry the little guy, too. That's so sweet!
