So, it looks like the Army psychiatrist that murdered 13 people at Ft Hood several years ago is going to be executed by firing squad. Pete Hegseth announced that the execution will be performed in public and it will be live-streamed. Fucking ghoul.

It's leg day for Hegseth. Or is he practising for his post-cocktails trip home.

'I didn’t spend 26 years in the Army to be disrespected by Pete Hegseth'

-- 'It angers me to hear Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth suggest that standards have been lowered to accommodate women in the military.'

https://www.ms.now/opinion/pete-hegseth-women-military-standards-promotions

'I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1978 as a military policewoman. During my 26 years in the service, I worked my way through the ranks to become an officer. At every point along the way, I met the standard the U.S. Army required. That’s why it angers me to hear Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth suggest that standards have been lowered to accommodate women in the military. They haven’t. The standard is the standard. You meet it, or you don’t.'

...

'I graduated from basic training as part of one of the first groups that integrated men and women. When I arrived at my first duty station in 1979, I was quickly told what I could and couldn’t do as a female military police officer. Women couldn’t work together or alone. There always had to be men involved. Even at 18, I knew that made no sense. Eventually, I was put in a situation where I was told I had to work alone. I refused. Not because I didn’t want to do the job. I refused because their own regulations, which I threw right back at them, said I couldn’t.

'The next morning, I was sitting in the first sergeant’s office getting chewed out and receiving a counseling statement. But something else happened. The regulations changed, allowing women to work alone — and work together. Why had we been prohibited from doing it in the first place? Because somebody had decided women couldn’t handle it.'

...

'I scored more than 300 points on my Army physical fitness test, and a brother-in-arms felt the need to point out that women had different requirements for pushups, situps and running. So, I told him to take my age, then take what I’d done and apply the male standards to my scores. How did I do? I was in the 90th percentile in every category.

'Because no matter how you cut it, women continue to meet the standard for our armed forces.'

For a tabless loser to criticize anyone's standards is an sick joke.

This person apparently thinks there's no morality without god. Thousands of altar boys and other children would seriously differ.

"Why would atheists care about the Epstein files? If God isn't real, there's nothing morally wrong, with rape, murder or pedophilia."

Well that's stupid.

OT.

So it will be.

You know Pumas don't fly. It is not Baconz favorite MST3K films.

Can we get out of this fucking timeline?

Oh, my God. Are people going to collect his sweat and jizm to sell, like they used to at public hangings?

What the FUCK? Are we going to be bringing picnic baskets to hangings next? Is this 1826?

Back in the day $90 bought enough of the staples needed for tuna noodle casserole to keep me going for months.

Not so much nowadays though. Just enough to make four meals including leftovers warmed up the next day

Fuck off donnie.

My first water bill was $8 for my $350/month bedroom apartment. Of course it was just me, but we refilled the bong with fresh water fairly regularly.

Singer and songwriter Dick Burnett was born on this day in 1883. With his fiddling partner Leonard Rutherford, here he is with "A Reckless Ramblin' Hobo":

Burnett is credited with writing "Man Of Constant Sorrow." Here's an early precursor to that song, "Lost John", here performed by Burnett and Rutherford:

Here's Dan Tyminski with Union Station and the version of the song most people are familiar with, having been featured in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?:

An old political saying, reported by Molly Ivins about how pols should relate to lobbyists: "If you can't take their money, drink their whiskey, sleep with their women, and then vote against them anyway, you don't belong in politics." Same goes for TFG's Medibribe checks.

I'd like to think that this will backfire magnificently...that people will watch and be repulsed by it and will call for an end to capital punishment.

But I'm not sure I have that much faith in my fellow Americans.

Since all of these Trump minions are committing treasonable acts, when their time comes will they also face a firing squad?

These assholes really want to start something, don't they?

SkeptiKC's avatar

Indeed they do.

This is going to get ugly.

Hollysdower's avatar

If they want firing squads, they better be prepared to stand in front of one.

Hollysdower's avatar

This will not happen. This is beyond outrageous. The public outcry over this will be massive, and saying this right before the election? Very fucking bad idea, Donny.

"Democrats and good-government groups point out that, like so many other Trump diktats, the payments may not exactly be legal. Back in the Before Times, we recall, Congress had to approve that sort of thing. But so far, no lawsuits have been filed in an effort to stop the expenditures."

I worry about people cashing those checks precisely because they may not be legal

This Department of Injustice is trying to indict Cassidy Hutchinson -- on what grounds I have *not the first* idea -- over her January 6th testimony

So I can't imagine what kind of "receipt of stolen goods" nonsense they would try to cook up over people who were cashing those checks since they're traceable once cashed

I'm just saying

Especially since they already did THIS as well this week

Black Students Face Charges for Social Media Posts

https://thegrio.com/2026/10/07/black-students-face-federal-charges-for-social-media-posts-about-trump-as-his-own-threatening-remarks-draw-scrutiny/

(and what we're not gonna do over that last one is say "that student shouldn't have" like we ask "what was she wearing" of the rape survivors ... I need the focus to be on the regime that is and has been abusing its power since the FL bar arguably should never have admitted Ka$h Patel since at that point he already had more than one public urination citation on his public record that have been there since he was in college)

Rosy red ASS's avatar

I didn't get one of those checks. Then again, I live in California so there was no was in hell they were going to give me any money. If they had, I DEFINITELY would have given it to Wonkette.
