Want to know the REAL TRUTH about HOW EVIL Trumps deal with Argentina really is?? It’s worse than you think… Get this…

Obama with the UN gave China a monopoly on the majority of rare earth minerals. We need them for everything electronic. China just cut us off to try and stop a US recovery.

Argentina offered the US total 100% sole rights to all of Argentinas rare earth minerals worth TRILLIONS in exchange for 40 billion in support and a small investment into their beef exports.

That’s like someone offering you 100 million dollars if you give them a 20 dollar bill.

If you enjoy electronics, electricity, cars, computers, phones, hospitals… then this is one of the greatest deals the US has EVER made. Not to mention life saving seeing as how rare earth minerals are vital for all modern life.

YOU PEOPLE ARE EVIL

A lot of us have been wondering where that $20B came from to bail Argentina out when they're bleating about not having "enough" public money for education or healthcare

I have a friend/coworker who is Argentinian, and who should by all rights be retired now. But he can't be because his retirement savings were wiped out by his government in a previous crisis. He's not a fan of Milei, but he has good reason not to support the traditional party of power.

What's most interesting to me is that we've allowed ourselves to get to a similar place in America, where people think traditional government is as bad, or worse than what they have had in Argentina for decades now. We elected our own Milei on the fiction that things have been awful, when they haven't. My retirement savings are doing just fine, thank you. And Biden created a ginormous number of jobs - including in manufacturing.

As long as we have an authoritarian party with no actual ideas to make people's lives better, and a press that is more interested in reporting what they say and what people feel (because of what they report the right as saying), instead of what is actually going on, we'll still be fertile ground for authoritarian bullshit. And, let's face it, we're a nation of low-information whiners.

But we are not Argentina.

My friend spotted the damage that the post-Covid bout of inflation would do before anyone else I know did, btw. Being Argentine, he knows inflation.

Ta, Marcie. For everyone who listens to us on A Jet Age Sound, we'll be on the radio as usual from ten p.m. to midnight eastern. You can hear our show (although digital audio does not sound as magnificent as vinyl played on FM) at wioxradio.org by clicking the Listen Live button. If you're local in the Catskills, WIOX is 91.3 FM, MTC cable channel 20, or on the campus of SUNY Delhi at 107.5 FM.
