Update: Whoops, misread the date! White-a-palooza is October 12, not September 12.Our good Tennessee blogfriend Southern Beale sends us a tip about a rally -- if you can call something attended by "the tens not hundreds these days" a "rally" --being held this weekend
This reminds me of the Quebecois complaining that their unique and special snowflake of a culture is under attack from a) Anglophones b) Allophones (everyone from everywhere else). The 1995 Declaration of Sovereignty is full of stirring phrases like "Because the heart of this land beats in French and because that heartbeat is as meaningful as the seasons that hold sway over it, as the winds that bend it, as the men and women who shape it". Oh and they got "enriched" by the First Nations. Who got displaced and told to speak white and worship the Christian God along the way. Gah. I cannot stand these sort of whiners.
Apparently, the local "brown problem" is at least partly ex-Somalis, whom we didn't even bomb properly before importing their redneck-displacing butts.
That was my first, horrified thought too: what sadistic resettlement agency placed a bunch of traumatized Iraqi or Sudanese refugees in fucking Shelbyville TN?
But then I calmed down, when I realized they are almost certainly referring to the nice Patel family, who bought the little motel out on State Hwy 28 back in 1993, and also those Mexicans who work at the Pizza Hut.
Somehow they missed FDR's great conspiracy when he started WW II so there would be good factory jobs in the North and the cheap semi-slave Black agricultural labor force in the Deep South would migrate to those cities and leave poor whites to actually have to work.
If they're such fans of the Labor movement and its holiday, presumably they're pushing to repeal right-to-work-for-peanuts-with-no-protection laws, right?
this is so timely for me. i'm working with an american indian organization (for ACA outreach) and getting daily reminders of our glorious white history.
So they are handing out signs rather than letting people bring their own? Do they want properly spelled words? No collages of Obama as Hitler or a Kenyan warrior? The organizers really want to take the fun out of it for the rest of us.
Good luck on the no flags or t-shirts. You will have guys in t-shirts with confederate flags on them.

Or somethin' like that there...
I'm not going to offer another opinion on this until I hear what Miss South Carolina has to say about it.

white southern victimhood IS just nauseating.

Today, we are all mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging Confederate morans.
Also, can't help but feel like I am forgetting something today...
As long as they don't get the monorail first...
the only way we are ever going to fix what is wrong with this country is if scientists come up with a way to make stupidity actually hurt.
And example we would all benefit from following. [wipes tear from eye]
