Dr. Oz is so out of touch he doesn't realize that most people don't consciously know that corporations and government see them as no more than a productive biological form for profit, or a non-productive loss on their balance sheets. Talk about cradle to grave job security - until death do me part. They hate Social Security because it takes away a body from feeding the economy. It's never about freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for the ordinary folk. I believe they will raise the retirement age to 70 or make them pay - not reduced- but pay back on their income taxes if they stop working beforehand.

Except every automated job displaces a human person, who needs a job and a purpose and an income. Robots don’t need a job, a purpose or an income. But for some weird reason they seem to think robots taking over the job market will be fantastic. What the millions of unemployed workers and cab and Uber drivers will do, I dunno. WTF does “one more year” even mean? Ok, I’m 52, I’ve been working and paying taxes since I got my first job washing dishes on a work permit at age 13, 39 years ago. I’ll work “one more year.” 40 years paying into the system should be enough. Some of us are tired of it all and just want to sit by the water and feed the ducks.

I've got news for Oz. People leave the US for health and dental care all the time. Mexico caters to medical tourists, as do some Asian countries. A friend of ours just had a longish hospital stay and surgery here in Spain. They said their room was like a hotel room with a hospital bed, because the hospital caters to medical tourists.
People can actually travel to Europe, get a hip replacement and stay long enough to recover for less than the cost of the procedure in their hometown.
Spot on!! My husband, 55, had complained of severe back pain, foot drop, etc for the last 2 years. They denied an MRI because he had to do 3 months of PT first, which he couldn't do because of pain and the expense which wasn't covered by our "insurance". He finally got his doctor to do a peer to peer review and got an MRI. Had a 5 level low back fusion surgery within a month to keep him from possibly suffering an injury that might paralyze him. The US system is, like everything else here, founded and cemented in pure greed.

USA healthcare does suck. It's insane.
And it is difficult to access even when you have insurance.
The answer to any diagnostic request is five sessions of physical therapy to see if that takes care of the problem first.
