When will you people finally realize that the Fulvous Fuckwad is only withholding funds to force blue states to deal with the rampant fraud infecting their governments and the non-profits taking undue advantage of taxpayer largesse? If these fraudsters would get their shit together, deal on the up and up, and kowtow before the Orange G-d King then they can have good things and a high quality of life like AL, AR, KT, LA, MS, or OK.

"it’s nice for the administration to put it in writing. It should make the lawsuits go worse for them"
Can someone, anyone, please explain to me why the gubmint has no problems putting a solid condemnation of their partisan asshattery on paper but find it impossible to put The Federally Persecuted Patriot Reparation Fund and the ridiculous no IRS investigations against the oh-so-honestly submitted tax returns of the Corrupter-in-Chief, his family, his friends (I argue that he has no friends, just toadies who enjoy stroking his extraordinarily small crotch mushroom for whatever crumbs he might toss their way), and major donors are truly dead and not waiting resurrection when Blanche is confirmed as AG (which looks like it ain't gonna happen) in writing.

"if we lived in one of those snow-bombed states, we would have bothered writing the IRS a big check in April."
I'd like to see how the federal gubmint would be able to continue paying off red states at the cost of the blue should the blue states do the smart thing and withhold funds due the fed gubmint. CA sends about $275 billion more to the fed than they get in return; NY sends ~$76b more, NJ ~$68b, IL ~$63b, and WA ~$57b. IOW these five states send almost $540b to the fed than the fed sends them. Other blue states that contribute more include: CO, CT, DE, MA, MN, and RI (figures from https://usafacts.org/articles/which-states-contribute-the-most-and-least-to-federal-revenue/)
Two can play at that game. If they're not going to provide the money for services that others get, then they don't deserve our tax dollars. Fuck them. See you in court. Or the Boston Harbor, which ever they'd prefer.
Oh, the recipient states want to stick it to the donor states even more like some ne’er-do-well 20-year old who blows off classes and flunks a semester so he gets an extra semester of his parents supporting him. Cool, cool.
I see the confusion. I was responding to “MAGAts in red states.” I know we have a significant California income tax, which is one of the reasons rich a-holes here moved to Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Nevada, et al. as soon as they couldn’t write off their state and local taxes from what they owe the feds.
I dream about the beautiful, west coast NATION of Pacifica economically dwarfing the fractured confederate nation of America no longer designated as "united" in any context.
This civil disruption and division is LONG past due.
The unlimited SALT deduction needs to come back, maybe even with a 125 or 150% deduction rate to encourage states to tax their residents themselves and run their social programs.
I'd HOPE it would make residents realize Republicans dont give a shit about you. But I'm not going to waste my time, it's been 40 years of MY LIFE - FUCKING LEARN.
Weren't GOPers getting into high dudgeon 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, over the fact that Fauci noted in his diary ~~how weird it was that pop-culture celebrities were praising him~~ 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, because of his role in the COVID-19 response?
A U.S. government map of Africa mislabeled every country during a State Department presentation at a global conference taking place in Brazil this week, causing a stir among attendees who took screenshots and posted them online.
Yup, it's a grant program specifically tailored to round up and arrest "criminal illegal aliens," all of which apparently marched in during the Biden administration (hence the kicky title).
Ta, Gary. New Yorker here, and we loathe and detest That Thing in the Offal Office with decades of practice. It's clear to me that anyone with any humanity, empathy, and/or compassion who does NOT vote a straight Democratic* ticket in November is a traitor to everything this country once stood for, period.
*I often vote for the Democrat on the Working Families Party line.
Ballots need to list party affiliation, period. Here in AZ some of the major positions like Mayor don't list party and I have to go look elsewhere. To me, that is unacceptable.
I want to see on the ballot which party each candidate, including judges, are. In the case of judges, I want the party that appointed them.
Not sure how it would work, but I think at least one blue state (cough CALFORNIA cough) should try to pass a law that mandated all payroll tax deductions go through Sacramento first before being sent to the Feds, so they could turn off the spigot should they want to do so.
A quick search didn't turn up anything but I seem to remember something (from Marketplace?) about states, CA specifically, having Fed taxes sent to an escrow account. We'd be technically paying them, but would release the money "when needed".
OT but I cannot wait to share. Estimates are out about the cost to the city from Neil the Seal's last year. The bill so far is about $31,000 AU$, with invoices outstanding. 🦭
Again, if you want to fight back you have to nag your blue state legislatures, AGs and governors. They won't do anything unless they're pushed.
Are they suing? Are they suing enough? Are they loud on the news and media? Are they making a stink?
Beyond those things, federal activities are dependent on numerous kinds of state support. Are the blue states willing to respond to fascist strangulation with countermeasures that risk them getting sued or arrested?
We haven't seen much of the latter. Lots of tough words. No tough actions so far.
Plenty of lawsuits, that's good. Enough though? Allocating funds for waging legal war against the fascists?
From the mass.gov federal accountability dashboard:
"Lawsuit Highlights
"No one, even the President of the United States, is above the law. To date, Attorney General Campbell has filed 47 lawsuits against the Trump Administration for its unlawful and reckless actions. These actions put Massachusetts residents’ health care, education, and jobs at risk."
Nothing includes what party won that state's electoral votes. Sounds like fraud to me when there are unpublished and highly partisan requirements for aid. Maybe Assmouth can put his loyalty demands in writing -- that's what I always asked my shitty former boss to do when he tried to commit fraud.
This isn't one of those woke amendments. The drinking fountains' that allow people who don't look like me.
The bitches get to vote for instance.
This is bedrock, original text. Congress writes the checks.

[snarls furiously]
It is too damned far PAST redemption day.
Pretty audacious considering most of the money supporting the federal government comes from the pockets of people in blue states to begin with.
Two can play at that game. If they're not going to provide the money for services that others get, then they don't deserve our tax dollars. Fuck them. See you in court. Or the Boston Harbor, which ever they'd prefer.
somehow it already Thursday? wut?
that means Hooperday is less than 24 hours away, because nao yrrrr

I'm slower than was I in my youth but that's not your fault.
Where's my bong?
I'm not burning daylight.
Here, comrade [profers bong with generously packed bowl] and lighter.
Blaze it up.

Californian here:
I'd like to see all those MAGAts in red states get along without our money.
(Fuck their feelings!)
But, but if you don’t give them your federal tax dollars, they’d have to do sochalizms and have like a real state income tax or something.
It's not Florida here; we do have a state income tax.
This lifetime Washington state is getting sick and tired of SUBSIDIZING these reprobate Red states with my tax $$$.
I still have my Pacific Coastal Union fantasies, all up and down, with open borders to both Canada and Mexico.

RFK jr is apparently going to be hosting a cooking show with celebrities?
So cabinet members can just have side gigs now? Sean Duffy was going to have a road trip show.
"You get a whale smoothie, you get a whale smoothie, YOU get a whale smoothie!"
I read a tidbit that said RFKj had "lost interest". I think he realized vaccines don't cause autism.

They all want to be stars! Maybe we could have just given him a cooking show instead of putting him in charge of our health?
Good to know "celebrities" will be filming with him, just so I know who else to boycott.
"Roadkill with Robert."

Are you telling me Africa doesn't have a Gulf of America?
Incompetence is one thing, but EVERY country sound intentional.
Forget it, Jake, it's AI-town.
"Meritocracy!!!"
Biggest offender there would be a landlocked Cote D'Ivoire.
It's a Reuters story, so here it is from a different outlet than the wingnuts at NewsNation:

The Guardian has it too.

Even better. I just copy/pasted the headline, and the first non-NewsNation link was Yahoo!, so I went with that.

I am ashamed and appalled.

They're not sorry. They did that to show superiority.
At this point I'd be more surprised if they got it right.
And contempt.
Yep. I think it was on purpose.
It was DAMNED deliberate, comrade.
I have no doubt at all.
Yeah.
"We don't care, and we'll prove it."
VICTORY LIKE EVERYONE HAS ALWAYS SEEN BEFORE!!!
US Senate rejects bid to rein in Trump’s authority over Iran war. Measure fails 49-50.
THIS demonstrates just how far this "democratic" [gags violently] republic has plummeted in the past few years.
I have abandoned any and all hopes of living long enough to witness the United States of
America genuinely, educated, humbly redeemed.
And Hoodie, of course, voted with the Rethugs.
Quislings!
Cannibals!
Bashi-bazouks!
Assholes.
Boo!
Complicit.
Remember when Joe Biden got that Infrastructure Bill passed, and only about one of the republicans voted for it, so it was a BIPARTISAN bill?
And then all the republicans took credit for the projects in their districts. Those scamps!
And now Trump is redirecting the money to demolish woke bike lanes.
Funny way of spelling "assholes," but maybe that's the British way.
Apropos of fucking which, check out this particular bullshit "funding opportunity" from the USDOJ:
>>DOJ FY 2026 Bridging Immigration-Related Deficits Experienced Nationwide (“BIDEN”) Program Round 2<<
Yup, it's a grant program specifically tailored to round up and arrest "criminal illegal aliens," all of which apparently marched in during the Biden administration (hence the kicky title).
Fucking psychotic children run this place.
You misspelled "scumbags."
They always do that. I have stories about that nonsense too.

Judges should not be partisan NOR elected. America's legal system is broken at least in part by that fact.
I agree. But in the meantime, I want to know which party they are affiliated with, LOL!
I will never vote for another repug ever again. They've shamed themselves forever.
I reistered to vote on my early October 18th birthday. I am currently waiting my 63rd birthday.
NEVER in all of those years and elections have I EVER voted for a Rethuglicon. I would sooner cut off my own right arm.
Don't do that!
The last R I voted for here in MA was Silvio Conte, who was actually a decent guy. That was a loooooong time ago.

Would that be legal? If so, I'd love for MA to sign up.
Probably not, but it could be fought out in the courts for a decade.
Is anything really legal or illegal now? Seems like politics is just seeing who blinks first.
> Is anything really legal or illegal now?
Whatever five members of SCOTUS say it is. 🤢
Yeah, it's like do whatever you want and then fight it out in the courts later.
Even if you ultimately lose, it's too late to help anyone you fucked over, so you just pay a penalty.
Sounds like the kind of thing they'd teach at Trump University.
Yup, we're boned.
This right here.
They are completely lawless.
Why should we decent folk we hampered by it? Why can't we play by the same rules?
"Obeying the law is for suckers."
OT but I cannot wait to share. Estimates are out about the cost to the city from Neil the Seal's last year. The bill so far is about $31,000 AU$, with invoices outstanding. 🦭

I hope they're making money off merch!
(going to go ahead and guess the city made moar than that on taxes collected from tourists alone)
What were they feeding him, caviar?
