Couple of things. First, Maxwell, and the prison staff, know damn well that if her meals weren't specially prepared for her, there would certainly be some extra, very choice, ingredients included. Second, Maxwell says she saw nothing inappropriate by Trump "In the times that I was with him". The question then becomes, was she with him at all times? I'm guessing not. But the lie is out there and it's to her current benefit.

The sales were announced by Bonhams, the auction house that hosted the auction. It plans to sell the other 27 paintings at several auctions next year in Boston, New York and Los Angeles. The proceeds will benefit public television stations across the country that have been grappling with the Trump administration’s cancellation of $1.1 billion in funding for public media.
Mr. Ross, who died at 52 in 1995, became a beloved pop culture figure in the 1980s by hosting “The Joy Of Painting,” a PBS show carried by hundreds of public television stations.
The three landscapes sold on Tuesday showcase some of Mr. Ross’s signature motifs, including saturated colors and whimsical clouds:
“Winter’s Peace” (1993), a portrait of a snow-covered cabin nestled beside evergreens, sold for $318,000.
“Home in the Valley” (1993), in which a single house overlooks a lake with mountains and clear blue skies, sold for $229,100.
“Cliffside” (1990), showing a flowing river gushing through the crevices of a cliff, sold for $114,800...
Right? I was thinking to myself yesterday how utterly wonderful it would be to have one of his paintings. I quite like them, and more to the point, he had such, well, joy in painting them that every time I looked at it, I would be reminded there are lovely things and lovely people in this hell world in which we live.
But I ain't got 600 large so that ain't happening XD
Well, boy, kink partner is in Mexico getting all kinds of dental work done. He's traveling so of course there is drama and this time it's that he left his card in an ATM machine and had to cancel it. Now I have to Western Union him enough cash to tide him over to Friday so he can pay places that won't take Google pay or whatever. Why me? Because tattoo people are sketchy and KP's crowd are some of the worst. KP would open his home to anybody, but his people do not return the favor. KP has never learned that no matter how much good karma you put in the world, there's no guarantee that you'll get it back.
That's not even the craziest drama. KP's little brother did something, I don't know what, but KP told their mom the brother needs to go to rehab, which DAMN, if KP is worried about him, the kid must be really fucked. Anyway, now KP's mom is mad at him, too for saying it.
This minor cold I have is an annoyance. I was worried the updated covid shots wouldn't work as great for keeping colds at bay, but after just two days, I feel mostly fine (a bit run down), and the symptoms are minor, too--snorting and coughing. Get your Covid shots everybody!
The Wif is really sick. I haven't been sleeping for the past week, or I would have gotten Ensure for her last week.
Every time she eats, she throws up. We've got a Doc appointment this afternoon. We're going to ask if he thinks she needs the last 3 Chemo treatments since the tumor seems to be gone.
Like I said, if my brain (or hers) was working I would have gotten her some Ensure Plus last week and she wouldn't be so fucking sick.
Now is when you REALLY count on your oncologist's judgement.. "seems to be gone" is a dangerous place to be. 🫂
(When ms.tek was going through cancer round 1, we had TWO neighbors who were radiological oncologists, one who was and still is a very close friend. The term "seems to be gone" came up a lot.)
That's what I had to get hubby to drink like whoa when he had the sicks. He lost like 15lbs in that time, which does not seem like a lot, until you reckon he was only 145lbs going in to that. It was a lot for him.
I don't understand all this hubbub about Edmund Fitzgerald. I mean, he's okay as a writer, and sure, the Great Gatsby is a fantastic book, but his other books are nothing to write home about.
'Patti Smith opens the final door of her life story'
'In "Bread of Angels," Smith reflects tenderly on her life with her late husband, transforming grief into art'
'By the time you reach the book’s end, you will undoubtedly reach the conclusion that another reason for this book is that it is a farewell. Smith is saying goodbye, she is saying thank you, she is offering gratitude for people in her life who stood beside her and helped when she needed it the most. She is making peace with what she has and has not done. It is a chronicle, an accounting, a memento mori. The book is not unnecessarily maudlin but rather sharply present, which is also simply an accurate descriptor for much of Smith’s life and work.'
I haven't read the other two books mentioned in the story, but 'Just Kids' is one of the best bios I've ever read . . . it really puts you in NYC in the '70s . . .
Never saw her in the glory days . . . but saw her twice in the '90s and then at Big Ears . . .
Couple of things. First, Maxwell, and the prison staff, know damn well that if her meals weren't specially prepared for her, there would certainly be some extra, very choice, ingredients included. The ghost of Thomas Kinkade weeps.
I desperately wish that I had the $$$ to bid on one of those paintings. I really enjoyed watching Bob Ross paint.

Died at 52. In 1995, I was starting my senior year of high school. 52 probably felt like a lifetime. Coming up on 49, it feels so young.
Funniest headline I'll see all day:
"Kim Kardashian slams psychics who told her she'd pass the bar exam."
She used effing chat gpt
I’m not even joking.
Proving that she is even DUMBER than I already thought she was.
LMAO
That poor girl. 🤣🤣🤣
"I'd have studied otherwise!"

He's bopping along to it like a 3-year-old listening to a TV theme song.
For a minute there, I thought he was gonna break into his 2 handed jerkoff dance.
Lol, that would have been sadly hilarious!
Me back at church.
Night two of no sleep. I can't lie there anymore trying to doze and instead just being restless and listening to paul snore.
Listening to the snores of someone actually sleeping while trying to sleep yourself is a torture banned by treaty, at least in civilized places.
Snoring is THE WORST when you can't sleep!
Animals grooming themselves is right up there, too
Oh god yes, that repetitive back and forth. I have to have the TV on if I am trying to sleep. It's my one bad sleep hygiene trick for sleeping.

That is why we’re going to talk to the doctor today.
That's a scary phrase. I would want to hear IS gone.
Oncologists won't commit to 'is gone' until they've done scans every three months for a year after a treatment and not seen it in any of them.
:hugs:
Children's Pedialyte worked wonders for rehydration, when the pukes settled in...
But there's no substitute for dense nutrition and kcals...
I hope the doc has a solution

Losing close to 10% of body mass due to illness had to scary as hell...
Scared the shit out of me. But he couldn't keep anything down, it was a very bad time
I drink Gatorade when I am nauseated. It is less unpleasant when it comes back up. Best wishes.
Sorry the chemo is hitting her this hard, but hopefully it's kicked cancer's ass and she can start to get better now.
Best wishes for her recovery.

Kinda dusty in here.
Patti Smith played not once but twice at my Alma Mater (UMass Amherst) while I was an undergrad there.
The second time, she opened for the Grateful Dead.
.
Ah, college days...
