I have to stand up here for all the IT people who put in the hours to make sure Y2K was the absolute nothing it turned out to be.
Yeah, that's what ms.tek did.
And in the best IT tradition, the NEW Oracle-based system was supposed to be ready before Y2K, but about six months out it became clear that was just not gonna happen.. so she had to lead a remediation on the old AS400 system.. that remediation worked out fine, and the AS400 soldiered on for another TWO YEARS before the NEW system finally went live.
I grepped a lot of code back then, so yeah. Which is why I found it funny.
