I just drove visiting goddaughter around the UCSC campus last week to show her the various locations of my university misdeeds, as well as some redwoods and deer, which showed up on cue just like professional extras. She didn't believe me about the banana slug mascot until I found one on a mural on campus.
There's been a building frenzy since I was last there, which I found impeded a lot of the extraordinary beauty of the place. But apparently one can still hike to that forest pool someone built in the redwoods five decades ago down by the Haunted Meadow.
I went to UCSC. When I was there the administration tried to change the school mascot into a seal. The student body WON that fight and the Banana Slug is STILL the school mascot!
The first retirement gift I received from a colleague was a carved wooden banana slug. It is magnificent, and will almost certainly be the best retirement gift I will receive.
Ick. Lots of slugs and snails in my very rainy Vancouver garden chomping away on my dahlias. I didn't want to kill them. What to do? One time I picked a giant bag of them and threw them over into the neighbour's veggie garden because he was a pushy yahoo thief(stealing my blackberries) who pissed me off.
What to do? The solution? A ribbon of copper. encircling the stems of vulnerable plants at ground level in spring; it repels (zap) but doesn't kill. Highly recommended. I hope they all wandered off to the yahoo's plot.

So it looks like the Dotard is "petering out" on his war. Moving it to the back burner, on "low-key" level. None of the good things for him that Bibi told him would happen if they ambushed Iran came true. All of our bases in the oil kingdoms were disabled. Bibi killed the Ayatollah but that didn't really help the Dotard as it turns out. Dotard tried to drag our allies into joining us in the worsening mess and was rejected by all of them. Some more than others but eventually they made it clear, not gonna happen! We fired everything we could, Tomahawks, ATACMS, Himars, drones, B-2s, F-16s, F-35s, A-10s too apparently. All this firepower and munitions didn't really have much effect on Iran's military capabilities. Just like good ol' General Dan "Razin' " Caine told Congress last week, "air power has its limits". Iran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks across the region and at Israel. Iran shredded the "dome air defenses" everywhere. Almost like they knew what they were doing, hmmmm. The kingdoms cried 'Uncle"! Bibi's mad and say's they'll attack Iran without the US, sure. He's mad alright, stark raving mad! Iran now says they are fine with being the gatekeepers of the Strait of Hormuz, like they are now. And they'll wait till 2029, when the Dotard is gone, to negotiate with the US cause they aren't going anywhere. Everything that orange blob ever did was a fuck up.
he will declare us victorious, himself as the greatest president ever to serve a country and we will get the f out of there. His sheeple will eat it up and continue to sing his praises.
What, no story on Melania's senior adviser informing us that the "Melania II: I Really Don't Care, Do U?" movie/documentary/puppet show will show us "a part of the First Lady that hasn't been seen yet?" Please refrain from being too explicit about which part that will be, you degenerates!
Regarding the awesome AOC's comments on boomers, as a tag-end boomer (Gen Jones phase) no one wants younger people to be holding the levers of power more than I do. In my life, I have tried to live up to my principles regarding the equality of people, and proudly announced I was a feminist at age 10, but our time as movers and shakers is over. If millennials and Gen Z can kick this fascist hostile takeover of the nation in the 'nads and restore decency in public life, I will be overjoyed.
