Ick. Lots of slugs and snails in my very rainy Vancouver garden chomping away on my dahlias. I didn't want to kill them. What to do? One time I picked a giant bag of them and threw them over into the neighbour's veggie garden because he was a pushy yahoo thief(stealing my blackberries) who pissed me off.
What to do? The solution? A ribbon of copper. encircling the stems of vulnerable plants at ground level in spring; it repels (zap) but doesn't kill. Highly recommended. I hope they all wandered off to the yahoo's plot.

My newest privacy protection tool, Privacy Badger, is blocking social media widgets, but it's really easy to disable if there is something I do want to see and it doesn't interfere with reading Wonkette, in fact the added amount of control it gives me feels really nice. I get a bit more choice over what I do and don't see and that normalized lack of control is one of the things that apparently stresses me out about using the internet, but I only realized this now once it is gone.
