I think ERRYONE below Trump in the org chart gets investigated. Get closer and closer to him with charges and imprisonment. He’ll stroke out sooner or later as he gets more and more isolated and his staff stop speaking to him altogether.

I did go to the library to renew my old card, but I forgot to look for the book club book. I’ll try to remember next time. It’s been years since I was there. Now they have new computers and a DVD section.

Are the Somalians in anyway akin to the Haiti-ans with whom Cher Horowitz assures us we could party if we'd just get to the kitchen and rearrange some shit.

Nothing about the jihadists who walked right into the Capitol on January 6 though?

I think Dana Bash "gently" brought up Jan 6th on one of the Sunday Shows, the Republican freaked out. Apparently no one is allowed to talk about the totally legit tourist tour

"J" is an upside down "6"

Dr. Jennifer Shuford, a former state health commissioner whom President Trump appointed to a top post at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help steady the agency, is leaving after just four months in the job.

Dr. Shuford’s last day is planned for Nov. 12, the C.D.C. said in a statement on Tuesday. Her departure was reported Monday night by The Washington Post. Dr. Erica Schwartz, the C.D.C. director, announced the news to staff in an email Tuesday morning.

News of Dr. Shuford’s exit comes as the C.D.C. faces criticism over its response to unrelenting measles outbreaks in the country. The agency is embroiled in a dispute over its refusal to acknowledge several measles-related deaths reported by the Pennsylvania Health Department.

Dr. Shuford, who was the agency’s deputy director and chief medical officer, did not respond to a request for comment. She said in the statement released by the C.D.C. that she was leaving “to spend more time with my family.”...

Sadly, I can't help. Thanks to redistricting and top-two primary, there two Rs on my ballot for the House. No Senate race. I did vote for Becerra over Hilton.

Hilton has a name disadvantage.

If Dems win big next week, I don't want to hear any Dem leaders talking about "reaching around the aisle" or whatever the fuck. No reach arounds! These people are enemies of democracy and fascist thugs and I will seriously lose it if one of these (Jeffries, Schlumer) centrist boobs starts that talk.

SkeptiKC's avatar

The only "reaching" I'm inclined toward would be that involved with red neck wringing.

blueicebank's avatar

Do sucker punches count as reach-arounds?

Are we not doing "phrasing" anymore?

I expect them the go after the Democratic Socialists first.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

That is predictable, to keep their credibility with Goldman Sachs et al

Speaking of Jihadists and their funders, how are Jared's benefactors in the House of Saud?

Except for all those Houthi rockets.

Oddly enough, Republicans aren’t afraid of Muslims when the Saudis give the Trump family $2 billion dollars.

OT: I posted over a week ago that my coffee grinder broke. I got the needed part an hour ago, cleaned the whole thing, reinserted the cone burr, and made an awesome cuppa coffee. SOOOO much better than the pre-ground stuff I used all week. I'm 10% happier than I was an hour ago. One thing would make me MUCH happier, which reminds me it's time to wash my champagne jelly glasses.

Marlon Rando's avatar

I have a grinder brewer combo and it makes the best coffee

A long time ago I had a Toshiba that was an all-in-one grinder and brewer with timers. It became a PITA to maintain so I went to separate units. My Baratza grinder is now really old - easily reparable and very reliable. And now I use a pair of Aeropresses for brewing.

I have coveted those.

Once Congress cuts off Trump's demolition derby couldn't Jared just fund it through the billions he got from the Saudis ?

Jared could just tell Prince Bonesaw, "Dude as soon as you wire me another billion, I'm sure we could maybe do something about those pesky Houthis". . . .

Our_Man_In_Redneckistan's avatar

The Times Editorial Board wrote on this today and offered something I hadn’t thought of.

If MAGA figures in the Executive Branch refuse to honor Congressional subpoenas, Congress can go after his enablers in corporate America. THAT would be a show. People hate corporations.

Oh, I got three more terrifying words for them: CHINESE CORRUPTION PENALTIES.

(Never mind your guillotines, too anachronistic.)

"Anachronistic," perhaps, but satisfying.

I'll not jinx anything, and lay a hundred clams on this prediction: Nov. 3 will be somewhere between a Squeaker and a K-2 Extinction Level Event. So, if the results are anything outside that, say status quo on the one end, and a Permian-Triassic Extinction Event where everything but hippies and FDR Democrats survive, I lose $100. Otherwise, pay up.
