If you made that last paragraph into a t-shirt or hat or coat, I would absolutely wear it!

I think the VOTE is the beginning for certain and like you say, it should be overwhelming and obvious that it's a Blue Tsunami. But then, that's the beginning until after January 3rd. We should expect denial, lawsuits up the ying yang and massive efforts by the rotting mango to stay in power.

Notice that none of these loons can ever describe the mechanics of how this massive election fraud is done. Why?? Because there simply is no fucking way it could be done, You would need an army of people working cohesively in absolute secrecy.

Ta, Brooke. Beloved husband Meccalopolis and I just returned from Mushroom Church in Hudson. It was loads of fun. We went there after visiting Kaaterskill Falls, and the autumn colors were just lovely. Tomorrow, we're going to the closest town to canvass. Yes, we're actually going to knock on doors and talk to voters, or if they aren't home, leave printed matter. I'm voting early in person when we're in the city. When we vote, we WIN!!

They are too late for me. I checked this afternoon and my vote was counted yesterday.

Oh, I knew: they had a "Yes on 8" sign in their yard. Saw it every time I walked my dog. Slowed down a bit just in case my dog needed to pee right then.

I just got a text that Washington state has mailed me my ballot. I'll know in a few days if Trump is having the post office burn them all or not.

The far-Reich fails utterly and entirely to recognize the FACT that we Pacific coast Blue states refuse to step back or otherwise leave a fellow Blue states to fend for themselves when attacked. We will NOT capitulate or drop to our knees in submission to Drumpfenfuehrer or his gag-inducing gestapo wanna-be Orange shirt henchfucks.

We stand TOGETHER on the west coast and would just as soon spit on the Depraved Despot than bend a knee in submission.

Think about this: Mrs. 🦡🍄🐍 is a naturalized citizen, a white Brit who speaks native English (if not ‘Murrican), and she’s not completely unconcerned about getting deported if she does something the fascists don’t like. So putting the fear of Assmouth into people with a more easily questioned right to vote is a no-brainer, if you don’t believe in democracy.

Don’t let them make you, or your friends or neighbors afraid.

Europe shuts US out of Russian assets conversation

"BRUSSELS, Belgium — Multiple EU leaders on Oct. 15 firmly rebuffed the idea that the 200 billion euros ($227 billion) of immobilized Russian assets held in the bloc would be handed to the U.S. as a bargaining chip in peace talks.

The idea was floated by U.S. officials when they met with European counterparts on Oct. 9, and was first reported on the next day by the New York Times.

These are frozen Russian assets held in Europe, belonging to Russians who are destroying Ukraine and killing people there every day... the idea of releasing these assets is completely out of the question," Orpo said.

"On the contrary, a proposal will be put forward today to continue exploring ways to ensure that these frozen assets are used to support Ukraine," he added.

Likewise, Austrian Prime Minister Christian Stocker said he is "not convinced of the idea of imprisoning these assets under U.S. control in view of the volatility in U.S. policy and how quickly things are changing there."

"The assets are frozen in Europe, and they shall remain frozen in Europe. That is a matter for us, and we will decide it," German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told reporters."

https://kyivindependent.com/europe-shuts-us-out-of-russian-assets-conversation/

"No." is the absolute minimum to this asinine nonsense. "Hey, we want to unfreeze Russian money for nothing in return, pretending its about peace negotiations."

Fuck all the way off, frankly.

I don't know WHO or what redirected the Fetid Fascist as per that sort of fascist horror, but I DO acknowledge the fact that I'm grateful.

There has already been too damned much bloodshed in American cities already.

I am too. Typical GOP behaviour though, creating a problem and then claiming to fix it.

Somewhat off the topic of fraudulent fraud accusations, a graph from four years ago showing how far from representational "two senators from each state" is. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/27/learning/whats-going-on-in-this-graph-nov-9-2022.html

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

The senate was supposed to be somewhat undemocratic by design though. Not even directly elected for the first 130 years or so

noname's avatar

Yeah, that's one of the many "designed" problems.

Mighty Little Dog's avatar

I only mention that to emphasize we have structural constraints to work around

Always Be Ithacating's avatar

True! There was a lot of debate about it from the beginning. I want to do some reading at https://csac.history.wisc.edu/constitutional-debates/senate.

In midterm desperation, Team Trump boasts about ‘done deals’ that aren’t actually done.

"The same week, the Republican president hosted a separate event in the Oval Office and announced that the "largest steel plant in American history" would be built in Iowa, where party is facing several competitive races. "This deal is done," Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said, standing at Trump's side.

As of Tuesday, the company behind the project, Mesabi Metallics, and its Indian parent company, the Essar Group, did not own property in Lee County, Iowa — where the plant is supposed to be built — or in the state of Iowa."

And now the Greenland claims, which were immediately debunked by Greenland and Denmark.

Remember Foxconn's $10 billion investment in Wisconsin that Trump announced in 2017? He said it was going to create 13,000 high paying jobs. How did that turn out?

We've been down this road before, on a smaller scale:

"Essar Steel Minnesota’s plans were groundbreaking in more ways than one: It proposed nothing less than the first facility in North America that not only mined and pelletized taconite but also used those pellets to make steel. The state of Minnesota put together a $71.9 million infrastructure development package to support the project.

Ten years later, the project collapsed. Essar Steel Minnesota filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2016, leaving the state and contractors owed millions. Investors took control of Essar Steel Minnesota, renamed it Mesabi Metallics, and brought it of out of bankruptcy protection in December 2017. Essar Group reclaimed Mesabi Metallics in 2019."

Always Be Ithacating's avatar

Among many other questions, why locate a steel mill far from any of the things you need to make steel, starting with iron ore?

Natalie Harp Raids Trump’s Underwear Drawer

WASHINGTON—After sneaking into his Executive Residence bedroom in order to acquire the commander-in-chief’s briefs, special assistant to the president Natalie Harp was reportedly caught Thursday raiding Donald Trump’s underwear drawer. “We heard muffled grunting and sniffing from behind the president’s door, and so our team burst in immediately to neutralize any potential threat—but it was just Ms. Harp going through his Hanes again,” said Secret Service agent Michael Donowitz, detailing how a panicked Harp dove to the floor and scurried under the bed as soon as she heard the doorknob turning. “Honestly, this is hardly a surprise. On numerous occasions we’ve found Natalie rooting around in the president’s closet as well as licking his dirty plates clean.” When asked for comment, Harp delivered a muffled, incomprehensible statement after shoving the yellowed pair of briefs into her mouth.
