There are Starbucks in most of the hospitals here. They are owned by the hospitals, not a franchise or corp owned. They pay something to corp but I don't know how the amount is determined.
This is also why taking Muffin for a vet visit is now coming with bills that look like a trip to an actual hospital. A for-humans hospital.
I spoke with a dog trainer the other day who told me that firms are buying out veterinarian's offices and hiking the cost of services by incredible amounts. Your local vet now just works there and has to charge what corporate says.

That happened with two of our vets. Now I take Aria to the Humane Society Vet Clinic. Very good care, much lower pricing.
Our local vet got bought out by PE. The patients disappeared. They sold to a group of vets and now it's run by the new vets. Much, much better.
