When life hands you feral hogs, have a hog roast.

This is going to attract the gravediggers like flies at a picnic held in a cow pasture.

If you do fucking see it, will it be a disappointment?

As TPM reported Tuesday, White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney revealed a previously unspoken motivation for the move in a speech over the weekend: thinning the herd.

“ 'It’s nearly impossible to fire a federal worker,' he told the crowd at a Republican fundraising gala in South Carolina. 'But by simply saying to people, you know what, we’re going to take you outside the bubble, outside the beltway, outside this liberal haven of Washington, D.C. and move you out into the real part of the country, they quit.'

“What a wonderful way to streamline government, and do what we haven’t been able to do for a long time,” Mulvaney quipped.

No reason they can't stay in DC; Target and Walmart are always hiring. I'm no fan of anyone who works in any way with Dolt45 but even a stopped clock is right once a day (twice if it's not digital).

Maybe if more people voted for the future than the past, things would be different. Years ago, I read about a rural town in Kansas giving away land, if people promised to stay for at least a couple of years. Maybe if more people were willing to accept immigrants, the newcomers would revive the population and everyone benefits

As Sam Kinnison said about Ethiopians, If you really want to help them send them suitcases. They live in a fucking desert!

I approve of seeing 'code blue' and 'President' in the same post.

Almost all GOP candidates in NM leave their party affiliation off of their campaign materials.

Feral (and other) hogs are omnivores. Like us. They're attracted to anything with blood inside of it.

I can understand that... there are a lot of people who can't comprehend nuance.

But with enough people behind her, maybe she (or Kamala or Kirsten or whoever) can overcome that. That's my hope.

They wouldn't get their land stolen out from under them now. Things are bad enough, no need to pretend they're worse than they are, is there?

Something clearly needs to be done. Rural America may be in the final throes of a fatal brain drain. Anybody with any ambition or intelligence has pretty much left for the city and the only people left are the hereditary (often absent) landowners and the semi-literate serfs.

Sorry I misread your comment. I think it a delicious irony that Indian casinos and pay-day lenders are raking it in from Great White Brother. (Gratuitous Firesign Theatre reference)

Some of them are raking it in. I wish they all were.
