It's a conundrum. Advantage has decimated Medicare in some areas so in those areas it's the only option. But for 95% of the country Medicare with a supplemental is the right choice.
THERE IS NO LEGAL OBLIGATIONS TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS.
I don't say this as a bootlicking corporate schill but because it's a fabrication that those in power want to keep in circulation so they can throw up their hands whenever their ghoulish decisions to put profit above all get questioned. They can parrot that and people go "well their hands are tied I guess" instead of their actual decisions being called into question.
We need to stop giving the rich and powerful this out. Make them actually account for their greed as real decisions they're choosing to make.
There is, in fact. Officers of a public company have a duty to represent their client’s interests, and in a common-stock company those interests are necessarily financial in nature.
An acquaintance of mine took classes with Senator Warren back when she was "only" Professor Warren. This is consistent with her reports - Warren is a wonderfully clear instructor who takes no bullshit from students, and there are Harvard Law Students who are world-class bullshitters. Prepare well, engage the material, and be ready to be called on.
I gotta say I have a Medicare Advantage plan through Kaiser. I do pay $30 a month for it in addition to what is deducted from my SS for it. I get good care and can get referrals easily if needed. I just don’t see the gouging here from KP.
The question is how much the government pays Kaiser for your MA plan. Much like employer-subsidized health care, the portions you pay are a percentage of the cost. Compare your policy to one on the health care exchange to get a better idea
Kaiser is a model system that could be nationalized if our vaunted electeds (Rethugs+Sinemanchin) really had any interest in actually providing us with health "care" rather than forcing us into the healthcare industrial complex (insurance). The product here is secondary to the fundamentals of capitalism.
I was in a meeting yesterday where a woman was asking a question and the person she was asking wasn't answering the question, but was answering around the question. This woman kept bringing things back to the question and I thought it was fantastic, just like Elizabeth Warren.
Which is why we need to be vigilant and not let Republican taint lickers like this guy (would bet money on that) sneak into positions where they can do more harm under the guise of "no really, I am TOTES a centrist!"
Ta, Robyn. My love for Elizabeth Warren just grew stronger, and I didn't think that was possible. Medicare Advantage plans are all fraudy. I have Medicare and an Aetna policy through my employer, so no matter how many Advantage offers I get in the mail, I never even open them.
Senator, I'm DELIGHTED, just tickled pink, to have the opportunity to blather and obfuscate and do my widely-acclaimed impression of a snake evading a mongoose and not answer a single damn question. You don't get this high up the corporate ladder by being forthright with anyone, anyone at all, and I fully intend to filibuster every straight question you put to me.

Warren is dynamite. I'm so glad she's fighting for the good of the country, not just rubber stamping nominees

Couldn't this guy tell Sen. Warren was trying to solicit a bribe?

Currently Medicare pays over $1000 each month for each senior on MA.

Kaiser may be the exception, but I dunno.

"she’s doing Biden a favor here,"
Absolutely. The nominee did not disclose this. That was a bullshit move by the Kouzoukas and he should with-fucking-draw.

I want to be like them!
Jeezus...I've seen Shirley Temple movies with less tap dancing than this Kouzoukas idiot is doing.
ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!
Kouzoukas is a reguar Demi Remick. [Conservatory classmate of my daughter's. This is wonderful:]

OMG that's amazing! And she danced to ALL those themes (it took me a minute to realize her dress was Mario colors. LOL)
I miss my video games *sob*
Yeah, that nominee is a turd in the punchbowl. Wonder why Biden nominated him, unless Kouzoukas lied to Biden about stepping down from Clover.
Democracy is at stake here.

Goddess damn, ask a weasel a straight question...
That's a terrible thing to say about weasels.
I know, I like weasels, but I couldn't find the word I really wanted.
Hahahahahaha
I mean, I almost never want to read that much transcript from a senate hearing. But Warren was on fire.

So is Kousoukas one of those "You voted for a democrat but surprise he's a republican" types?
