for cryin out loud, they ARE supporting freedom of speech by NOT advertising next to nasty shitTHAT IS THE CONSEQUENCE FOR YOUR FREE SPEECH, SOMEONE ELSE's FREESPEECHGoddamn it
Elon Musk's poll is an example of coded language or "political correctness" if you prefer. He's actually asking whether corporations should support hate speech or basic human decency.
He seems to be able to competently manage engineering-focused companies, if he doesn't get distracted. Problems are:(1) Twitter isn't particularly engineering-focused(2) He's mightily distracted
yeah, his successes come from companies that dont have to actively seek customers. Once the big players in the car market are mass producing EV's it will certainly be interesting to see how tesla does. i havent really checked their financials but for a while it seemed like they made most of the money selling their MPG credits to other companies and not actually doing that well on the cars.
Was just reading that Twitland employees are rightfully worried about being fired. In this day and age, when there are a lot of jobs in need of employees, why did these folks stay any longer when the initial negotiations for Twitland were under way, and a lot of folks deleted their accounts even then?
At least for software engineers, only a few companies offer the level of compensation that Twitter did -- and most of them like Google, Apple, Meta etc are currently on hiring freezes. Tech interviews at top companies are grueling processes that take weeks of study to prepare for -- some are probably indulging in denial, rather than go through that. Then you've got the H1B visa holders who can't easily leave at all.
Suppose the total cost per employee is $200K, that's $1.5B. The $200K is about right, assuming this article is reasonably accurate: https://www.comparably.com/...Throw another $1B at operations (not including employee infrastructure). That leaves $2.5B in revenue. What the hell are they spending all that money on?
Musk's current difficulties are absolutely delightful. He's well overdue for a "finding out" phase, and looks like he's going to be getting quite a full measure.
"Although in a Republican utopia they would paywall the park, for maintenance and safety to keep out the undesirables of course!"
FIFY

The use of the phrase “political correctness” pretty much gives the game away.
If corporations supported free speech, you'd hear the word "union" way more often around the workplace.

If Only Joe Biden (or Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or Gretchen Whitmer or Nancy Pelosi or or or) had the power these noobs ascribe to them.

Off shore accounts.Buying new businesses (while laying off the employees)Buying bigger stockholders' shares.Making deals with foreign undesirables.
Oh yeah, and somewhere in there, they're doing 'job provider' stuff. Just ask the RNC.

Ah. She was that moronic. Though there are some rumors of Randi being into social darwinism

And yet voting isn't free speech.
If musk actually believed in freedom of speech he wouldn’t have thrown a hissy fit when that kid posted the location of his plane.
But every non-MAGA already knew that.
