When people ask me why I'm an atheist, I will use Kissinger being in good health while Carter fades as my example. No just god would take a man this good and leave so much evil in the world (PAB, looking at you).

Well, this is a lot of feelings I'm having. Carter is the real deal. Also thinking back to Dad's last days in hospice. It was amazing that he was able to stay home though the end. May we all be so lucky. Thanks for framing this so well, Mr Robinson. (Wipes eyes)

I was born in 1969. Jimmy Carter was the best president of my lifetime. He was a devout Christian but did not force his religious beliefs on the rest of the country and did not govern according to the bible. Additionally, he did not entangle us in any wars. And when he left, he went to go build houses for the poor. I'm an atheist, but I will say this, may your God bless you Jimmy Carter.

I don’t think President Carter will actually pass away. I think, like all saints, he will ascend directly to heaven when the time is right.

Despite their political rivalry Carter and Ford were dear friends

That was most certainly another time that couldn’t exist today

2a guarantees each State Governor the use of a well-regulated armed militia, fully armed and equipped. There is nothing about armed citizens rebelling against the government. People with a capital 'p' refers to the State, not the general population.Congress has the power to regulate lethal force.
