Agreed. I make $21/hr and I am constantly worried about rent, gas in the winter, electric in the summer, God forbid Xmas gifts, birthdays, etc. At the very least they should bump that to $20/hr and give people a bit of peace of mind.
We peons complained about that with Republican office holders in a state agency. They saw labor costs as an expense to be minimized wherever possible rather than an investment in a skilled, knowledgeable labor pool that keeps their sorry asses in the head honcho's chairs.
