Most Cabinet members, knowing that they will be interviewed by Congress would have had their staff brief them on likely questions and prepare credible responses to those questions. Either there were no credible answers to those questions or Noem just felt like giving Congress the Finger.

I am a North Carolina democrat and in spite of Tillis’ voting record and his policies and republicans in NC in general, I stood and cheered for every word he said to - no, not said to, yelled at, Noem. Go,Thom, go! Go out on a high note. Be at least one thing North Carolina doesn’t have to be embarrassed about on national news.
I've always considered Tillis a waste of oxygen, even when he was just a member of the NC House getting ALEC awards. My view of him didn't improve when he took his act on the road in 2014, leaving the NC ?House without a budget to go on the fundraising circuit in DC (and then having the undying gall to call Kay Hagan out for missing a vote in the Senate for a similar reason). Short version, you won't find me trying to rehabilitate Thom Tillis' reputation, but even a blind squirrel buries a broken truffle twice a day, so I guess I have to give him his 15 minutes. Because he got this one right. Which was not on my bingo card at all because that tine he tried to have a principle during Trump v. 1 it got lonely and ran away to live on a farm upstate.
