Adam Kinzinger said today that 60% of Americans support Trump’s bullshit in California. Is that fucking true?

Regarding the approval numbers for Democrats in Congress, I'm one of those lifelong (age 71) Democrats who are in the 79% who think they, as a group, suck big time!

I can count on one hand (plus my other opposable thumb) the Democrats in Congress I would (and sometimes do) support: AOC, Maxwell Frost, Eric Swalwell, Jamie Raskin, Tammy Duckworth, and Elizabeth Warren. And maybe a few others in the House or Senate.

As for other nationally recognized Democratic leaders, Pete Buttigieg, Andy Beshear, Governors Josh Stein (here in NC) and Shapiro, and maybe a few others in states and fiefdoms here and there.

But why would I approve of the current party and its utter lack of cohesiveness, coherence, communications ability, or concern for anything other than maintaining its "leaders'" status quo and "collegiality" with their "friends across the aisle."?

Anyone dumb enough to imagine for one nanosecond that EVERY Republican in Congress will stab their "friends across the aisle " in the back with a razor-sharp shiv the moment Donald Trump tells them to is simply too stupid, too gullible, too naive, too trusting, and too useless to serve.

No not everyone. I was on the red side of this app, and it is bad. They are calling for democrats in house and senate to be “forever silenced”. They want to come after registered democrats.

It also doesn't matter if his policies are unpopular among Republicans because they will still vote for him and the rest of the GOP. The slim majorities in these polls are not reassuring.

Who are Trump’s Nigerian supporters? Princes? Widows of corrupt generals?

Anyway, were I a betting man (wait, I am!), I would wager that the low Demo #’s are largely a factor of despair over the Congressional Democrats’ perceived passivity.

I had the same reaction. Maybe the US withdrawal from Africa raises Nigeria's status as a continental power? Maybe they're just enamored of gaudy "strongmen"?

Yet the DNC will still mostly lose to a historically destructive, unpopular GOP.

Someone sent me a WaPo poll. They texted 1,000 people to get responses regarding the LA shit show. So very science-y.

It showed a lot of the responses supportive of this invasion by the military, weekend or marine. I would say more than I would have thought, but gave up that years ago. During the Ronnie Raygun administration.

Fair and balanced I tells ya.

In the context of Shitler’s low approval ratings it’s no wonder why “Democrats in Congress have a lower approval rating ... than Republicans”, because they are correctly seen as being completely impotent, if not actually complicit, in their tepid response to this fascist takeover of our government.

WTF is the use of a two-party system if one of the parties can’t—or maybe *won’t*—act as a check against the other?!

For people complaining about the Democrats, Senator Padilla from CA was just arrested at a public press conference.

Not arrested, but shoved out of the dog killer’s latest fashy photo op, briefly cuffed, then released (not that that’s not bad enough though).

if you're handcuffed, that means that you're not free to go, for at least as long as they leave them on. that's the legal definition of "under arrest" the cops have their own definition as arrest as "being charged" or being booked. common misconception. in fact, when you're pulled over for a ticket, until they let you drive off, your under arrest
