But I will always be proud of how she actually worked with a very tiny lobbying group here in Colorado devoted to the cause of MORE REAL SCIENCE in our medical regulatory apparatus. Even though weak from cancer treatment she trudged to CO state committee hearings to point out that fucking homepoathic and naturopathic woo, tarot cards, energy manipulation, smudge sticks, spirit enemas, irrational herbs etc etc were BAD MEDICINE that kill people while draining their bank accounts. Of course she encountered plenty of anti vax nonsense.
Though the antivax crap angered her greatly she often also had some ire for the REAL DOCTORS who failed to show up to help give testimony about the effectiveness of vaccination as a public policy goal. She was an informed and knowledgeable citizen voicing her opinion to help persuade our legislature. What she really wanted and needed was some concerned and enthusiastic MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS showing up for the hearing and backing her up.
The naturopaths and woo merchants often smugly noted how many of them were lined up to lobby the legislature and how few doctors and scientists bothered to make an appearance to support vaccinations. Sometimes my beloved soul mate had to stand alone in that room against the hordes of sneering woo merchants.
So fuck actual US senators who are actual doctors and still let Bobby Jr. take the reins at HHS. He didn't have a secret agenda about vaccines. His goals were long held and very publicly stated. All the evidence was right there in front of them and they didn't have the balls needed to say 'NO'.
They appear to be starting to fall. All the crazy shit that they’ve done with a bulldozer will take years to repair. Sad that so many will be harmed in the process.
That's why we must be TIRELESS in not just outvoting the morons, but

From what I’ve seen from doctors on social media, they never realized they’d need to get involved politically over something like vaccines.
