I don’t remember who said it, but “the charisma of a lamp and a laugh like a horse getting its balls cut off”
Also, an anemic third place what now? An anemic third place *win*! Good news for Nikki Haley! It must be her turn to be "the future of the Republican Party."
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ads on YouTube after trailers from Disney... I watched C-suite Twitter wars in the replies to the Iowan debates. Time (for him) to die (politically).
I thought Ana Navarro nailed him dead to rights when she said "now everybody sees what I see, and have been saying for years - there is nothing there. Sure, he beat Charlie Crist, but Crist was a corpse, and I hate to insult corpses."
I'd like her a lot more if she'd stop being a Republican, clinging to the idea that her party was great once. The GQP always sucked, it just sucked less twenty years ago.
I find the use of punching one's ticket phrase by Ronnie D. a little awkward. It feels very 30s gangster, "sleeping with the fishes, see" connotation I think he'd want to avoid given the state of his campaign and career.
It's DEFINITELY a meme. The original description, from /The Selfish Gene/:
The new soup is the soup of human culture. We need a name for the new replicator, a noun that conveys the idea of a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation. ‘Mimeme’ comes from a suitable Greek root, but I want a monosyllable that sounds a bit like ‘gene’. I hope my classicist friends will forgive me if I abbreviate mimeme to meme.* If it is any consolation, it could alternatively be thought of as being related to ‘memory’, or to the French word même. It should be pronounced to rhyme with ‘cream’.
Examples of memes are tunes, ideas, catch-phrases, clothes fashions, ways of making pots or of building arches. Just as genes propagate themselves in the gene pool by leaping from body to body via sperms or eggs, so memes propagate themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain to brain via a process which, in the broad sense, can be called imitation. If a scientist hears, or reads about, a good idea, he passes it on to his colleagues and students. He mentions it in his articles and his lectures. If the idea catches on, it can be said to propagate itself, spreading from brain to brain. As my colleague N. K. Humphrey neatly summed up an earlier draft of this chapter: ‘… memes should be regarded as living structures, not just metaphorically but technically.* When you plant a fertile meme in my mind you literally parasitize my brain, turning it into a vehicle for the meme’s propagation in just the way that a virus may parasitize the genetic mechanism of a host cell. And this isn’t just a way of talking—the meme for, say, “belief in life after death” is actually realized physically, millions of times over, as a structure in the nervous systems of individual men the world over.’
Consider the idea of God. We do not know how it arose in the meme pool. Probably it originated many times by independent ‘mutation’. In any case, it is very old indeed. How does it replicate itself? By the spoken and written word, aided by great music and great art. Why does it have such high survival value? Remember that ‘survival value’ here does not mean value for a gene in a gene pool, but value for a meme in a meme pool. The question really means: What is it about the idea of a god that gives it its stability and penetrance in the cultural environment? The survival value of the god meme in the meme pool results from its great psychological appeal. It provides a superficially plausible answer to deep and troubling questions about existence. It suggests that injustices in this world may be rectified in the next. The ‘everlasting arms’ hold out a cushion against our own inadequacies which, like a doctor’s placebo, is none the less effective for being imaginary. These are some of the reasons why the idea of God is copied so readily by successive generations of individual brains. God exists, if only in the form of a meme with high survival value, or infective power, in the environment provided by human culture.
A) If you are going to be racist, at least have the dignity to spell the foriegn sounding name of your opponent right. You don't spell it "Iwanka," do you?
B) And get your basic grammar right. You should have written Nimrata "Nikki" Halen instead of Nikki "Nimrada" Haley’s. Nikki is her nickname.
He's termed out as gov. and he's strong-armed every major money source here, into donating to his failed campaign. Even the local Fl state reps hate him, so he's not getting elected to anything else here.
He's also term-limited in 2026. It would be great if we never have to hear from him or about him ever again after that. I don't think he has a bright future in the GOP after so many people have realized what a weird, annoying "person" he is that can't act like a normal human. He face-planted so hard hopefully this will be the end of his political career.
Everyone was commenting on his performance at CNN's town hall. They were commenting on how he's starting to act like a human. Not a great compliment for a politician - he's almost human!
No future
No future
No future
For Q
That's a Rotten thing to say!

Per the nyt ronnie d's PAC "never back down" is...backing down.
ronnie d don't quit because watching you get hammered is so fun
"But DeSantis was already the future of the Republican Party for a few weeks there. Now that’s all in the distant past."
Seems like the future just ain't what it used to be.
If only they treated that other loser (Trump) the same way tehy are treating DeSantis now.
Instead we get promotion of the Big Lie that Trump actually won but got the election stolen from him.
And somehow people still want this loser back.
Ta, Stephen. They're all losers. And RDS should return that skin suit to Edgar.
🎯🎯🎯👍
"Nimrada" = Nimrod. Totally intentional.
All that potential, all that hope, all that hype, all gone.
Like farts in the wind.

She's such a spitfire, yes she needs to realize her party left her behind long ago.
I love me some Ana no matter what!

they are so desperate to be saved from their own decisions
"make like a tree and get the hell out of here"
Presumably that would make some kind of sense if I had consumed the appropriate media memes.
It's from Back to the Future.
That's hardly a meme. It's the most middle-aged reference possible.

Not Nikki Halen. That just makes her cooler.
OK, you, just get in the van.
Have you ever heard her play the guitar? She SHREDS that thing!
Can't blame the guy. It isn't like he's going to be able to hold onto the job as Gov of Florida:
𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝟭 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝟯𝟱𝟮% 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬.
Mostly as there isn't going to be a Florida soon.

The writing is on the wall for Gov. Puddin' Fingers. If you have lost Laura Ingraham, you have lost the Aryan vote key to all Republican victories.
Aryans never thought Italian fascists were a reliable ally.
