I thought most followers of the Church of England no longer actually believed in God. Kind of a stumbling block, no?

Meh. Popes have been pulling that shit since Henry VIII. Church of England is practically Catholic as it is.

Eddie Izzard does a routine about the "Church of England Inquisition". The Vicar has everyone over to tea and offers them "Cake or Death".

Two miles away from me is a church (slightly converted ranch house) that houses an "Anglican" congregation of renegade Episcopalians who could not stomach women clergy, let alone gay clergy/bishops. Their status is as a mission church from, if I'm not mistaken, the Church of Rwanda. In the Florida panhandle. Joe Scarborough's hometown. These are the same people who were fighting school integration a few decades ago.

His Holiness can have them, too. Not just because they are clueless hammerheads with no sense of the tolerance that characterizes the Anglican tradition at its best, but because they have no capacity for understanding irony. These people would not think there was anything funny about an R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Cancer Institute, or Hungry Hasid Pork Sausage Links.
