really? I travel 2-3 times a month and I can't remember the last time I didn't have to put down a credit card at check in. Even though my room charges always go to the master account, they still require a card for incidentals and many resorts will put a hold on it for the price of the entire stay (which can suck when you're at a pricey resort for an extended length of time- I had a $3500 hold at one place)
I'm fortunate to have someone else foot the bill for me to stay at some of the finest destination resorts around while I work for them. Interestingly, the expensive ones are the least likely to give you any freebies like bottled water or free WiFi- partly because it usually goes onto an expense account so no one cares if they're paying $8 for a $2 bottle of water
BTW, has anyone out there ever come across a little indie rom-com entitled "Me and Mirror Make A Porno" that was supposed to have an extremely limited distribution, but for some inexplicable reason got uploaded onto the public intertubes instead? Asking for a friend.
