I read an NIH meta analysis of studies that examined "regret" about transitioning among people who had their transitions reversed. Of the number of people who transition, only 1-3 percent reverse. The study included a table that presented the reasons people experienced regret. About half regretted because they were dissatisfied with the results--some wished for different physical results, while others said they did not find satisfaction living as the other sex. But the really heartbreaking part was that half the people who reversed their transition did so because they had been pressured into the transition by a partner.
Reading that made me so sad. Nobody should modify their body from pressure by a partner--whether it's weight loss, implants, or gender transition, that is just totally unacceptable.

Our daughter works with a 'woman' who had begun the transition to male but paused everything as they were too scared to continue. He has gone back to his female name for now. The whole vet clinic supports him but that doesn't help outside of work
