Actually heard lots of positive responses to the speech (and not just among the usual left wing suspects). Heard some former Bush dude saying Kerry was articulating 30 years of US foreign policy (though he also said 2 state solution was almost dead thanks to settlement expansion). Also read something about seizing a moment in which the US Jewish community is increasingly split (as we are much more democratic/liberal than Netanyahu's Israel).
And without the 2 state solution as some kind of hope, the Middle East is even more fucked.

He is seriously the most compromised president in our history. I wonder what that will do to his ability to get things done. Certainly it offends his ego.

He's thinking about them because they were generally well-liked and he thinks he is in the same category. Not that I liked Reagan or anything, but lots of people who should have known better did.
