Is it " invisible " or just not referred to or quoted ?I don't think this is a bad story.Write one yourself. Submit it to Wonkette. If you're so sure.So are we telling Wonkette staff what exactly to write now ?!The Hell ?!?

Senate hearings with Zuckerberg were pretty eye-opening.Zuckerberg said he would not publically reveal the name of the hotel he was staying at or which friends he was planning on seeing during his trip when asked.!!!!!!!!!!!But you made $$$$$$ by exhorting us to do so.

So you find the acquiring of others personal, private information repellent to say the least ?

Ohhh well that’s totally worth supporting a sneaky lying company like FB who actually secretly sold its users’ private info to a shady corporation that helped elect the slimy fascist turd currently holding the job of POTUS. Nonprofit. Totally excuses everything. Sheesh.

Exactly. When people talk about technology destroying us it’s usually talk of robots and AI run amok.

Nope!

It will be (or already is) the ability of social media to magnify the stupidity of the human race to obscene proportions that will do us in.

But but but my esoteric hobbies!

Not what I said. Don't put words into my mouth.

If it makes you feel any better, I was the last one to get on FB after many years of useless resistance, and I still don't like it very much either. But it is a useful tool to us and we'll stick to it unless a better tool comes along that's also accepted by our community.

You just need to know how to protect yourself on-line by using the disconnect and noscript add-ons for your browser or changing your browser if they are not supported.Disconnect blocks sites which send tracking data to other sites and noscript as the name suggests stops scrips which can be also used to track your web useage and collect data about you.Disconnect is showing 63 sites requesting data on my activities on wonkette which have been blocked

I was just kind of over Facebook around the end of last year. I honestly only have it because there are a few people I can keep up with since they’re not always gonna have the same number or address for a solid year. It’s the only reason I have the app anymore.

Yeah as I said, you’ll continue to use FB, thereby giving Zuckerfuck exactly what he’s after and helping him sell just about fucking everyone’s private info to shady, sometimes fascist, organizations. So yeah you came late to it but so what?

Pointing out a very obvious omission isn't telling someone what to write, it's point out a very obvious omission. Seriously, the article completely ignores the hardball questions asked by Kamala Harris, apparently to bolster its point. That seems dishonest. And I don't need to write an article to see where there are mistakes in someone else's.

His article didn't seem dishonest in the least. " It's point out a very obvious omission. "Did you mean revealing or " pointing " out ? Das Vadanya ?

Well, Washington State GOP may have just elected a Nazi, but we have a great Attorney General.

In a pair of lawsuits that cite The Stranger's reporting, Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson today charged two of America's largest tech companies, Facebook and Google, with violating longstanding state campaign finance laws that mandate transparency in political ads....The right of any individual to obtain this information traces to unique Seattle and Washington State laws that require significant disclosure by companies that sell political advertising aimed at local elections. To comply with these laws, companies such as Facebook and Google must reveal, upon request, the "exact nature and extent" of the political advertising services they've provided, as well as specific information on each political ad's cost and purchaser. But as Ferugson says in filings today in King County Superior Court, "at no point" over the last six months has Facebook or Google provided The Stranger with the data I've requested on local political ads. https://www.thestranger.com...

This. Except it's the community theatre that I help run.Without Facebook we lose our main way of reaching out not only to our members, but other theatre groups in the region, AND potential audience members.

Yeah, for me Facebook is where I share Boynton posts and audition notices, basically. They don't have my location, my real birthdate, they don't know I'm married. Apps have always been turned off. My current pet peeve? People who are stupid enough to like and share the obvious fake luxury RV posts- unfortunately the latest FB friend who has fallen for that shit is being treated for breast cancer, so I don't want to give her a hard time about it.
