My late wife and I said l spent my birthday week in January in Puerto Rico, a few years back. It was an icey 10°F when we left and a balmy 80° when we landed. We rented a thrifty Toyota Yaris and saw the whole Island on one tank of gas for the week. We bought a very old bottle of Bacardi, that you can only buy at the distillery and sipped our way across the island. The people were warm and friendly and the food delicious. It was our last big trip together and the best birthday week of my life.
