Meadows already gave away the store trying to move to federal court. He really doesn't have any leverage whatsoever don't ya know.

I don't think they have enough fingers to point.

That does it! I'm blaming Whittaker Chambers!

Since Meadows is already singing for Jack, why not for Fani also too?

Ah, I was confused. I thought "No plea deal for Meadows? I could have SWORN I saw something about him taking a plea deal".

Wrong felony case. My bad.

OK, "Harrison Floyd" is Harrison Ford's stand-in, "David Shafer" was on "Friends", and "Misty Hampton" is clearly a fancy beachside condo development -- so odds are that it isn't one of them.

The best part of this case is even IF the new slime ball speaker and his minions try to erase this case, they cannot. Federal they will try like hell to do so. Bet me.

I wonder if Ms. Willis is thinking about how, logistically, one donald j. trump can actually go to prison. What would that look like, what with the secret service with him 24/7? I can't see it,the best I can see is house arrest and hopefully that will be in a normal person's 1000 square foot house not the gaudy gold palace he lives in now. I'd love it to not have a/c.

I'm thinking some sort of super-villian single-inmate prison compound where the MAGAts can visit him - for a fee that supports it's upkeep.

Seize Mar-a-Lago as part of the sentencing and sell it to the federal Department of Corrections for $1.00. Turn it into a federal prison with one inmate who is subject to all the restrictions and rules of any federal inmate in any federal prison.

Let him die in his own, personal federal prison, surrounded by no one but jailers.

For sure, house arrest is the worst that could happen and people should stop getting their hopes up about anything resembling real prison time. Also, all the mountains of evidence and flipping co-defendants won't matter a bit if they can't get a jury untainted by MAGAts.

Gammarae's avatar

your final comment is, sadly, what i worry about most.

Expand full comment
Cryny's avatar

I have a hard time seeing how the prosecution will prevent this without doing thorough background checks on all prospective jurors. Any MAGAts in the jury pool are going to be highly motivated to lie their way onto the jury.

Expand full comment
Gammarae's avatar

I don't know that the prosecutor will have that opportunity. I was once questioned by a prosecutor who went thru a bunch of questions from his info sheet, then looked at who i worked for and (the lights came on) said "heyyyy, are you an attorney?" and that was the end of my jury career. Maybe he didn't have time to read thru his info before beginning.

I do want them in prison. Don't particularly want them in a "forgotten" prison, though. I'd rather they be in a prison right front and center, where everyone can go and laugh at them for the rest of their life.

A classic example of the wisdom of Sun Tzu: If the enemy deems that you are no longer a threat, they will underestimate you or dismiss you as an opponent.

This arrogance creates the perfect environment for you to successfully attack them.

I'm thinking Clark is next to plea. My best guess, which is not necessarily a good one.

Expand full comment
Colbert Thorenson's avatar

I think Clark is a fringe player in MAGAland and not someone they really consider "serious" in their world. That makes him a likely target for being embussed. Not sure if he is smart enough to see that, but if he is, I think he will take a deal pretty quickly.

Odds are long, yet I wouldn’t be surprised if Drunk Rudy took a deal. He’s broke, the boss won’t return his calls, he’s unencumbered by wives or clients… plus they have AA in prison. Because even with a deal, he’s going to the pokey.

randomnessliz's avatar

I'm not sure Rudy is a valuable/ necessary card to flip.

He was drunk most of the time and you know his documentation is not up to par.

He'd be a wild card, for sure.

I can see him trying to play cute with an Alford Plea and saying "I don't remember- I'm an old drunk that just got caught up, but since you have the receipts....." and then trying to turn everything into a total shitshow on cross examination.

That and he lies almost as much as Trump, so even if you could trust that he remembered things that happen accurately, you definitely couldn't trust that he wouldn't just lie his ass off about all of it. Everything he said would be completely suspect, for good reason.
