I'm always amazed that Conservatives, especially Evilgelical, have only 2 Intellectual beacons, ChesterBelloc and CS Lewis. I suppose they're too ashamed to refer to the real intellectual power houses of Conservatism.

Grandparents providing childcare would require grandparents who had some possibility of eventually being able to retire from their jobs.

This may be unpopular, but this bitch would have LOVED to have stayed home with her sons, but we simply could not afford that on my first husband's salary.

Instead, I worked raising the children of other people. It was the only way I could have afforded getting my sons into a nationally accredited childcare program.

There was no way in hell I was letting my mother look after my sons. I saw what she did to my niece. She made her into a spoiled, entitled monster.

I was a feral child, too. After the sibs went off to school and Dad went off to do ranch work, I was left to my own devices pretty much all day long.
