Isn't it amazing how law-abiding these rightwing crazees get when the law's coming from a Republican? I understand these Texas guys are armed to the teeth and have serious passions for private property rights, but they roll over and show their bellies with the Governor says, "We're going to do whatever the fuck we want on your land."

Until Texans stop voting for complete idiots like Cruz and Abbott then nothing will change

Take a look at what the DOJ has to say about 18 USC 242 and see if you find some relevance to this situation:

the unbridled desire to exercise power through cruelty - and to then normalise it as 'protecting citizens' is what the R's are all about

When we said “the cruelty is the point,” we didn’t realize they’d take it as a challenge.

"... and a father whose leg was lacerated by underwater razor wire as he tried to rescue his son ..."

Underwater razor wire sounds like something that should be a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Greg (I've got mine Jack, now root hog or die) Abbott's "moral compass" is always pointing to M, for ME. He's warm (or cool), well fed, hydrated (unlike TX workers) and safe, no matter where he wants to go. This is all that is important to him, and all that ever will be, because you can be sure he won't get caught anywhere near any road to Damascus.

The injury or death of "those" people mean nothing to him. The injury and death of his own State's citizens mean nothing to him. He is a prime example of Party, Power, and Pelf.

The Rio Grande is Federal property, not Texas' property. Federal law controls, so Texas troopers who are doing this could face Federal charges of murder, manslaughter, and assault and the defense of "I was only following orders" went out with the Nuremberg trials.

No no no no nooooo. Use their code words and catch phrases against them. Talk about "christian values" and "parental rights" and "protecting the children" and whatever else nonsense is coming out of their mouths ... except, like, the administration would actually mean those things, and not just be virtue signaling.

I have been asking this everywhere it comes up and gotten no answer: Can someone PLEASE explain to me like I'm a golden retriever how "pushing children into rivers" is not attempted murder??

It's like I recently explained to someone who misunderstood terrorism. "Terrorism" is when an individual or non-state group uses violence to influence policy. When the violence IS state policy, that's just "politics."

Sometimes I wonder if Greg Abbott is just profoundly resentful that that tree fell on him and crushed his spine and left him unable to walk, and that all his political sociopathy is just a manifestation of that resentment.

But that's just idle curiosity right now. That fucker needs to be turned out of office before he hurts more people.

I'm sure he's resentful. He recovered, and promptly went into politics to make sure that anyone else suffering the terrible injury that left him disabled, would never be able to collect as much money as he did.

Find out who gave the order. Scare the minions shitless to make them sing. Go after the bosses, all the way to Abbott if possible (that turd is in on this, probably his idea,) and make these fuckers pay. Do not let them get away with this.

I don't have any faith that Abbott and those like them will ever suffer any meaningful consequences for their evil behavior. But they shouldn't get to live a quiet peaceful life. He should be followed and ridiculed and shamed everywhere he goes in public. There should be permanent loud but peaceful protests in front of his house. And when he cries about it affecting his family, he should be told too goddamn bad because fuck you. What a hateful shit stain of a human.

I am livid. I am sick over this. Greg Abbott and the rest of his monsters need to be locked up over this. What kind of sick fuck takes pleasure in knowing babies, children, pregnant people, asylum seekers are being tortured and killed? How is this not considered a terrorist act or a war crime?
