Federal workers who "identify" themselves as gay or lesbians no longer will have their jobs protected, according to a nifty interpretation of a 1978 law by Special Counsel Scott Bloch. While the law was intended to protect individuals from discrimination on the basis of sexual conduct, Bloch worried that "you have to be very careful to interpret strictly according to how it’s written and not get into loose interpretations."
