The power was restored overnight, so my workplace is open today. Still, I've volunteered to come in fir a full shift tomorrow. I'm going to need to stay busy for a few days.
And I'm leaning towards letting this guy go, and soon. When I went through my worst breakdown due to lifelong major depression, I went off to stay with my folks for a few weeks. During that time my boyfriend of two years never reached out to contact me. Other friends did. When I returned I asked him why I hadn't heard from him, he said that he'd decided that I "was too much work" for a relationship. He broke up with me.
This guy seems to think the same. I won't put up with it.
Your advice is sound. As of this morning he's made no attempt to contact me. I think it's time to cut my losses.
I agree that he has serious issues, the first one being that I'm his first same-sex relationship -- one he initiated and I've cautiously accepted. He's a really kind man, but I think he sometimes feels he might be in over his head. I'm patient with him, but I've also set boundaries. He seems to think that how he feels takes higher priority than what I'm going through. I won't have that.
Lazuli, I weighed in because my boyfriend, who I was involved with for 7 freakin' years, was right out of the Randy Newman song, "Marie"--"When you're in trouble, I turn away..." I broke it off with him without knowing why, I just knew he was irritating the shit out of me (this was when my Mom died). I finally figured it out. Not a bad guy, just clueless.And I love Randy Newman.
The NRA having $500 *BILLION* dollars to donate to buy off politicians is mind blowing to say the least. 🤯 That they can do so while they're embroiled in a finance scandal is damned suspicious. When the hell is *SOMEONE* going to audit that wretched hive of scum and villainy???
My dream team is Warren/Buttegieg. I would fill the cabinet with all the remaining Dem contenders who don't get elected to the senate. Biden I would ship off to the United Nations, or maybe the Court of St James.
Still, I do believe every single running Dem would make an outstanding president, with the exceptions of Ms Loveisaforce and that terrible woman from Hawai'i.
