Once you strip away "all (the) other things equal," you're left with... nothing? Unless "firing ...into the air... at Whataburger," and selling dope, and shooting at that guy, (allegedly) assaulting the mother of your child-- yeah, I guess?! I don't know what all that shit is "equal" to, but once you strip it away, society practically owes you a gun!!

Your interpretation hangs together a little better than the Supremes "Yeah, what that guy said, bqwhetvr!" decision.

It is a nice fantasy to consider... while meditating. Or doing the dishes... mindfully.

My ancestors were from Central and Eastern Europe. I think the maybe the Czechs are not so gun-happy as the moronic supremes.

Righto, but calling them "trumps lunatics" is effective shorthand.

At least we now know the "snuggle sack" exists. And the void is no longer quite so achingly empty.

About that "logic" thing? Um, Zimmerman being the one to engage Trayvon in the first place, then claiming he "believed" he was in danger. Holy fucking fuckel-fucks. We sure do place a lot of power in beliefs... I mean, when it serves the fascist motherland that is.

Thank you, but it's "just the facts" People don't seem to realize that the "Well Regulated Militia" was not intended to be a standing force, but rather a defensive force which could be assembled and mobilized rapidly in the event of foreign invasion. All able bodied "citizens" were expected to join in At the time of course only white male property owners.. To make the assemblage more quick and efficient, they were expected to bring their own arms and equipment.

The Second Amendment is very plain in who is entitled to keep and bear arms IT IS NOT EVERYBODY!! With rights come responsibilities In this case, it is your willingness and ability to serve in a "Well Regulated Militia" if called upon to do so. A "militia" regulated by the lawful government Don't want to serve? No guns for you. This current idiotic interpretation that you need to be armed in case the government become too tyrannical for your particular liking, or you don't like who won the election, is pure bullshit.

"The GOP's lunatics" is more accurate. :-)

Dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops, Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The primary goal of the association would be to "promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis,"

The current NRA is an abomination, and far removed from the original intent and purpose. It has become principally the main marketing organization for gun manufacturers. The primary purpose today is simply to SELL MORE GUNS., to anyone who can plunk down the required amount of cash. The Second Amendment was included with a specific purpose and intent, which I have detailed numerous times, too numerous to count.

As a result of what can only be described as this perverse even diabolical interpretation of the Second Amendment, driven solely by greed. we suffer horrendous carnage.

How long will we allow this to continue? The Second Amendment does not say, "EVERYBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO OWN FIREARMS" no way, no how.

We can ban this particular gun or that particular gun until we turn blue in the face. That is NOT the answer What we need is not "gun control" but rather "gun owner control". Gun owner/operator licensing and registration of all firearms with strictly enforced procedures for title transfer. This in no way violates the Second Amendment and responsible gun owners should welcome this as a guarantee and enhancement of their rights rather than an "infringement" upon them.
