Oh, I agree -- I do this, too. But we do charge more to go into disaster situations where we have to provide ALL the basics, like gas for generators so the guys' RVs have electricity for an hour or two, and bottled water. BUT still, these guys were just....obvious.

As a former feral worker who worked for years on contract, I can vouch that the agency bills a huge amount to the client, and then pays you, the person actually doing the work, a small percentage of that (usually 35%). That is why the agency never wants you, the worker, to ever see the billed rate. You will then see how you are getting shafted.
There are other tricks they play too, which most workers don't know about. Like withholding state mandated payments for disability, etc., which end after $X dollars paid. Do they 1) add it to your hourly rate essentially giving you a raise or 2) keep the money for themselves? You know the answer already...
