apparently a long dead Kinja press bot picked up a briefing for the media from "sources close to the president's defense team" laying out their strategy - the link is here:
from the briefing: "The ground rules are as follows: Information on this call is on background, and can attributable to “sources close to the President’s legal team.” Again, that’s “sources close to the President’s legal team.” And the content will be embargoed until 5:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time.
As a reminder, by participating, you are agreeing to the ground rules I’ve set forth. With that, I’ll turn the call over to the [sources close to the President’s legal team]."
I repeat, NO ONE must know that this is information is coming from the President's legal team.
then one of the reporters asks why can't we name names, this is goofy, and the administrator is all hey I don't make the rules
and then [senior defense counsel who may or may not have committed pedophilia in Epstein's rape cave and who may or may not have been recorded doing so and who may or may not be defending Trump so vigorously because he knows Bill Barr is sitting on all that evidence and who may or may not be concerned that it will all come out if he doesn't bend the knee/kiss the ring/lick the boot] goes on to explain how he's going to explain away Trump's treason.
it's hilarious because the kinja bot (I used to use kinja when I commented at Gawker, it was even worse than Discus) is from a deceased Gawker site which was destroyed by Thiel the New Zealand bloodsucker
I thought I read somewhere that in urban, blue Florida the dems have arranged for rocket docket program which is getting various judges to reverse/eliminate those fines, with the result that rural, red Floridians are going to be relatively disadvantaged
but my google-fu fails me today, can't find the source of that information
Yr and My Wonkette writes: "The Florida Supreme Court has the ultimate say over the meaning of the Florida Constitution." Is that in fact true? In Bush v. Gore didn't the Florida Supreme Court rule by a huge majority, interpreting their own constitution, that Gore won, but then the US Supreme Court overruled them, interpreting the Florida Constitution in the opposite way? (This is a real, not rhetorical, question. I honestly can't quite remember, and my doctor forbids me from re-reading the Bush v. Gore opinion because #bloodpressure.)
I really hope that Trump's nominees do the right thing in this case and strike this provision down, because contrary to what we may want, we're not going to be able to get rid of them for a long time unless they do something illegal.
For many decades. Back in the 1970s there were big scale farmer/cattle guys in Florida known to have rented prisoners for farm labor. Mostly prisoners with no money or family, they were rarely returned.
