As if MAGA never call anyone racist....

You can see why RWNJs "believe that journalists regularly invent anonymous sources out of whole cloth" because that is precisely what THEY do, and HAVE BEEN doing, at least since the "Arkansas Project", of which the only positive result was to chase David Brock out of the sewers and into the light, to found Media Matters.

“Scientific beliefs?” Now there’s an Orwellian term if I’ve ever seen one.

Whenever and however they can, the "Faithful" are forever trying to undercut science, to equate a belief that doctors, professors and the like are just peddling their own brand of arbitrary bullshit, just like the leaders of the "Faithful". My ignorance is better than you knowledge because I YELL! And threaten, even inflict, violence if my cherished opinions are disregarded

One thing I’ve noticed with creationists is that they believe science isn’t about facts or evidence but one’s “worldview.” It’s their way of claiming that their belief that the Earth is only 6,000 years old is just as valid a “scientific” theory because reality is just an atheistic worldview.

They think science exists solely to prove that God doesn't exist so that humanity doesn't have to follow the "rules" anymore. Leaving aside the fact that you can't prove a negative, that's a whole lot of effort just to ensure people can get laid more often...

It’s not just about getting laid, although they are obsessed with it. It’s about making sure everyone stays within their assigned “roles” in life and that the proper hierarchy (with white Christian men at the top) is enforced.

Anything. anything at all to reduce hard fact to pliable opinion.

My guess is that this is to give similar cover to the anti-vax, hydroxychloroquine, bleach drinking and colloidal silver crowd.

Well, I have a great deal of faith in science, whatever that means.

I like the part about suing RWNJs who call everyone they dislike a pedophile. I don’t think the senator has thought this through or discussed it with half the posters on Xitter.

I would like to see that happen very much. It's *not only* unjustly smeared drag queens, LGBTQIA+ people and allies unjustly - it's made it less likely that victims will be believed.

*Particularly* if the victims have a background in Conservatism or Evangelicalism. Kids in those backgrounds are learning that EVERYONE you don't like, or disagree with, is a "groomer" or "pedophile". I bet it's already become a playground insult. How long before kids start thinking someone *can't* be a pedophile if they aren't gay?

Maybe that was the plan all along. Demonise LGBTQIA+ people AND make it safer for youth pastors to diddle little girls. Win win.

They are vile.

Smells like prior restraint. First Amendment violation all the way.

You can't call me a bigot, just because I are one. And if you do, I'll sue the pants off you.

Hmm.

And if this is successful, they can extend it to sexual assault and rape!

But that's not exactly news. It's been on its deathbed down there for some time.

undergoing the old Chinese Death by a Thousand Cuts, one of those curious and colorful folkways of East Asia in which a convicted malefactor would be stuffed naked unto a sturdy and too-small cage and the executioners would slice off whatever flesh poked through the bars. OR they dispensed with the cage and just restrained the victim and treated him as human charcuterie.

Let's not forget that this assclown is also known for this (from Wkp): "In March 2023, Brodeur introduced a bill requiring bloggers who write about Florida government officials for pay to register with the Florida Office of Legislative Services or the Commission on Ethics."

Truly, a fierce defender of the First Amendment.
