Here's another reason why so many Americans love those who are dedicated to protecting and serving their community. Last December, Marine Corps Corporal Curtis Shannon got himself a good beating for his refusal to roll down his car window all the way when confronted by an increasingly angry, out-of-control cop in St. Petersburg, Florida. The cop had pulled him over for allegedly driving in an "erratic manner," and like some kind of maniac who thinks he has rights, Shannon recorded most of the interaction on his cell phone. Even though you KNOW where it's headed, it's just fucking terrifying.
Screening out the psychopaths is the key to the problem. Some PDs don't even try, and I suspect that some are actually happy to add another racist goon to the force.
Really? The NYPD stopped and frisked black men in Brooklyn and Harlem, just as often as they stopped and frisked white NYU students in the Village, and . . . oh wait, no they didn't.
Bad policy. If (when) you get pulled over, turn off the car, turn on your interior lights, put your hands on the wheel, and don't remove them until you tell the officer what you're about to do (dig out your license and reg or whatever.)
And just to be sure you and the fuzz understand one another, turn on your phone.
Ferguson MO PD will soon be hiring a few cops. What a wonderful recruiting ground: Florida rednecks with law enforcement commissions. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Well, now this is a conundrum for all the loud-mouth tinpot patriots. Do you support the guy who wore the uniform and fought for your freedom to be an ignorant jackass, or the cop because "those people need to respect authority"?
Watched this until they pulled him outta the car, had to stop there because my stomach felt all tightt. I've never felt a physical knot in it before, and I've had an ulcer. Shit like this just makes you crazy, cops really, really need to get better training, and be videotaped at all times - it will work out better for them and the public. God fucking dammit, now I'm off to make some fucking tacos for dinner, hope they don't taste like the acid this scene makes me feel like spitting.
I love the way that Marine is so squared away and calm. I'd have been sitting in a pool of warm liquid after the first "Git out tha cah!"
The cops are going to keep this shit up until someone takes about a dozen or so of them out,the poor bastards are out of control.

"Probable cause" = "I feel like searching your car, probably because."

chicagoans get the bill for jon burge every couple years.
he stopped torturing people in 1993 so it's good to know we've got another 20 years of undiscovered chicago police territory to go.

Trouble is, that will just reinforce their 'backs against the wall' attitude and make them even worse
you wait until night to black out?
Rookie...
Wait. "4 hours ago"? Oops.

I'm noticing a trend in these cop stories.

so I guess that means that marines are now considered thugs, also too...
thanks Dick
