Isn't that what rich white people have now?

Boy I hope no BAD people get that number and, say, report that someone threatened to give a CEO a swirly or report God for making Elon look like that or report the Trump boys for murdering good taste or some other MEAN BESMIRCH.

"Translating people’s anger from rhetoric into shooting someone is new. It is? As long as there have been firearms, people have been killing others at whom they are angry. Although for the one percenters, there are alternatives... like the guillotine.

If it's that important, let them pay for it... not the taxpayers. And the responders.

This country has its head up its ass when it comes to priorities. School shootings are now so commonplace they barely rate a “thoughts and prayers” anymore from republicans who will fight tooth and nail against preventing the next one.

But one CEO is shot and it’s a crisis that demands immediate action.

I don't think it's possible to hate the idle rich more than I already do, but if Gov. Horchal wants to plumb those depths, I say go for it.

CEOs get to the top like anyone else. They succeed because they're fair, polite, nice, concerned, giving, enlightened people who get up every morning, look in the mirror, and think to themselves "How can I make the World a Better Place..." usually followed by saying "...for me!" aloud.

I cut myself on your sarcasm.

At least, I hope it was very sharp sarcasm. Because if you truly believe CEOs are fair, polite, nice, concerned, giving, and enlightened; then you and I have very different world views.

I had about 30 different CEOs as clients over the years; 2 were very decent people.

I notice that they're quite capable at pretending to be nice (they're so convincing they even convince themselves!) and then get right back to their regular job of making the world worse.

It wasn't terrorism, because terrorism strikes random innocent people. It's the way to terrify an entire society like 911 or Subway bombings. This was a directed assassination. That's not what terrorism is. I certainly don't feel less safe because some CEO douche bag got wasted.

I don't think there is a clear definition of terrorism, terrorism is whatever you don't like.

There was a time when you had to be non-white to be a terrorist. Guess that changed when people started taking potshots at CEO's.

How many more schoolchildren are there than CEOs? Like 1000 times more? I’m not good with numbers when I’m angry. But deeming the mere possibility that CEOs might get shot by other adults “domestic terrorism” when the murder of schoolchildren actually *IS* domestic terrorism is some real “out of touch with the will of the people” type behavior.

Let me help you. School children are the K-12 age cohort. That's about 1/5 the population, so 66 million. Forbes doesn't do money porno for top 10,000 corporations. I'd guess maybe 3000 CEOs taking a million a year. So I'd guess 22,000 times more children than CEOs.

These are called Fermi problems after Enrico Fermi, who asked his class how many piano tuners there were in Chicago.

That's a trick question. There aren't any tuner in Chicago. Tuner lives in the ocean.

Of course, I'm also at an age where my temperature is notably inconsistent.

They are not sending the message that they want to be sending by doing this. They are basically broadcasting that this assassination really spooked them and that violence against them is a valid useful productive way to get their attention. They apparently got the message as intended. At least in the cultural imagination
